So if Rotherham lose both games and Sheffield Wednesday beat Derby and we beat Middlesbrough by about 12 goals then we stay up. I know it won’t happen but it’s amazing how close we have got.
Actually if we beat Middlesbrough by 20 goals then Rotherham only need to lose once not twice. So that is 3 results going our way and we stay up.
I think there are always a couple of clubs that seem to refuse to lay down and roll over every season. Think you are one of them this time. You know it's going to happen but boy aint it fun to keep the ones above dangling. You are like that pesky dumped girlfriend who keeps turning up at your favourite pub and just sits there taunting you.
In the end I think the club have done well to get on 4opts as Ainsworth has said, we have got better as the season went on. A few what if's like every season, the bit of luck you need was'nt with us this season.
Still undecided Derby will stay up if; they beat Sheff W they draw and Rotherham don't win Rotherham will stay up if: they beat Cardiff and Derby don't win Sheff W will stay up if: they beat Derby and Rotherham don't win Wycombe will stay up if: Wycombe and Sheff W combined score at least 12 more goals than Derby and Rotherham combined I think that is right
Derby may have points deducted. Whether they will or not is under investigation and even if they are deducted points it may apply to next year 'Watch this space' - Club chief comments on potential Derby County points deduction - Derbyshire Live (derbytelegraph.co.uk)
We complained when Bristol Rovers tried to p*ss on our chips when we stayed up on the last day of the season in 2014 and now we're doing exactly the same. I hope we keep out of it or we could lose a lot of goodwill we earned in The Championship very quickly, just leave it to The EFL to sort out.
Are we? I thoughT we were just watching. If the EFL deduct points from this season who are we to argue. I do note however, that our legal team are looking at it. I too hope they don't try to force the issue
You have to blame the EFL over this has been going on since the beginning of the season over the ground purchase, they also had two none payment of wages in January & February how long do these things need to take
Rob is looking after his investment do you really think if it was the other way round Derby would give a **** about us
In what could be viewed as a precedent, Macclesfield were relegated from League Two last summer after an independent arbitration decision resulted in an immediate six-point deduction.
I think all we have asked for is that if there is any points deduction it should apply to this season totally different to Rovers who wanted a penalty that had been given (fine) changed to a points deduction
Derby found guilty, can not see the pts deduction if any coming this season, they have also now got to pay their ex Captain 2millon pounds after they sacked him for gross misconduct, also waiting for a takeover that has been going on months as well to put it politely the club is a complete mess
Interesting this. I wonder at decisions the EFL make quite often and it seems that it depends on who you are to the way you might get treated. If this was Wycombe I wonder if any points deduction would depend on being in a possible relegation spot or not. I think they would relegate you and save the bigger club. But, this is the other way around so my guess is they won't relegate Derby and save you. In some ways I agree with you about seeming to beg for your place but for your club this is a whole lot of cash at stake which you could sorely do with. Kind of justifies trying doesn't it.
Trouble is Phil if they get taken over which is likely by someone with a big pocket then they can make up points by getting the much better players they can afford compared to minnows. I just read something interesting on this elsewhere. Apparently if this was Administration, which is a breach of EFL rules, and it involved Derby who could be relegated with a points deduction this season then the points deduction would apply. Wigan being the example of that. Now this isn't Admin but I can see no difference with this than if it was. It is a breach of EFL rules and it would relegate Derby now if points deductions were to apply. Is it fair to apply the relegation rule to one breach but not to another? Not to apply it now would make any punishment potentially worthless and therefore pointless.
