Off Topic Alex Scott new Football Focus Host.

Alex Scott will take over as the presenter of Football Focus after Dan Walker announced he was standing down at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old former Arsenal and England full-back made more than 200 club appearances during her playing career, earned 140 caps for her country and represented Great Britain at London 2012.


Alex becomes the show's first permanent female host in its 47-year history and spoke to BBC Sport about how it feels to bring in a new era in front of one million weekly viewers.

Apart from being one of the most intelligent and articulate pundits who knows her stuff, some people will still insist she’s only on the BBC because of her race and gender. These are the same people who whinge about others constantly bringing up race.

 

I’ve never warmed to Dan Walker so looking forward to seeing Alex put her mark on it.

 

This appears to be as good a place as any for this.

 

She's a decent presenter with experience in the relevant field. Suggesting otherwise is a bit **** on your part.

 

FF as been ****e for years,can't see it improving whoever got the job,just about every pundit on bbc and sky etc are rubbish.....swan n burns could do better.......

I'm not suggesting anything, I think she's a good pundit, but that doesn't change the fact that it ticks all the modern boxes the BBC have to tick.

 

Well, she’s leaps and bounds better than Souness and Redknapp (both sr. and jr.). Being a decent player or coach doesn’t make a good pundit.

Good choice. Seriously. She knows her stuff and comes across very well.
Is there actually anything wrong with saying that she is also very 'photogenic'? It's fine for women to say "he's fit", "nice bit of eye candy" or whatever (yep, those were the more upmarket comments!).

 

Because he's played and managed at the highest levels in this country and abroad probably.

Personally I think problems arise if you were to suggest thats the only reason she got the job.

 

It's like she's deliberately not finishin the ends of her words when she's talkin.
