That's 6 to chalk of the 65 odd "failures" that LJ signed! And 3 players he helped nurture and bring through the clubs ranks. For the last player, not sure any of us have seen enough to know if Joe Williams should be in that 10, and what position?

Honestly it's pitiful, trying to give accolades and pin medals on LJ's chest for players that have kept their jobs but have achieved nothing, how ever you describe it they were part of a failing squad put together by a failing leader that was sacked for failure.

We all know that the MA/LJ regime is over, if NP builds a side that succeeds and achieves progress in the near future and that side includes players that were here prior to his arrival do we give all the credit to LJ, it's a nonsense, he is not asking for it and does not deserve it.

I would suspect that doing a straw poll after players are told "bye bye" would influence the

At the time I was puzzled why Carrol was valued so much higher than Maynard when we played the Toon in the Championship. They had both scored a similar number of goals - plus Maynard's goal vs QPR was nominated for best goal of the season in the whole of football (among those by Messi, Ronaldo & co).
However, it seems like those agents doing the valuations knew their stuff. Maynard faded away very quickly, whereas Carrol went on to play for England - loved his goal vs Sweden - one of the greatest ever headed goals in my book.

What a strange article to hang your LJ hat on?.
Weimann and Williams have been long term injured and god knows if they will be consistently fit again to play a major part.
Nagy and Wells have been inconsistent all season.
So 40% already have question marks over them.

And now the LJ 'nurturing' yes Vyner and Semenyo all got their league starts from LJ, but it has to be said that he wasn't overly keen on using academy players in match day league squads, only Vyner about 5 times, Semenyo about 10 times out and Kelly over 30 times before his transfer, then you are looking at Morrell made 1 league appearance and that's it, a few other players made a few cup match appearances/squads.

a very few occasions throw up a player who plays in lower leagues or in lesser teams and gets to go into a team that is much higher up the ranks …. and they become super stars or close! it is to do with timing... take the top 5 top scorers in div 2 [ just a hypothetical ] place them all in a top 10 prem team with right manager and anyone could be another harry kane or …… leave them be and their football careers will drift by as just another above average player!
today when you look at the top of the championship or most of the prem when a team needs another player they "buy in" usually a top 10 prem "cast off" or foreign player … years ago top teams scoured the lowered divisions for players or progressed with home nurtured!

We have a very comprehensive EURO scouting network... not massive but up to the job in hand so far! … With NP will this change …. conditions now are different … most teams outside prem [ in championship ] have lost at least £5m income [average ] from gate receipts … assume full service next season they need a price increase or a couple ,ooo extra fans per game for next 5 years to catch up!
an example of catching up …… the 2 or 3 pubs I have recently supported have increased the price of a pint from £3 /£3.20 in January 2020 [ last summer £3.30 - £3.50 ] to £3.80 - £4.20. a barrel of 72 pints has gone from £108 to £130! [ based on comments with 1 of the landlords who hopes maintain prices [ 2 years ] said cost will go up by tax increases or supply cost at plus 5% ]

seats and season tickets are the comparison .. hike the price short term [ rarely go down ] or steady increase over 2 or 3 years?

would be interesting to see the increase in beer prices at AG WHEN ALLOWED BACK IN!

    note ..
having been a regular purchases of supermarket "ale" for past 15 months a six box of uk brands has stayed at around " £2.80p a litre" ..Aldi had a load of 12 bottles uk beer at less than £2.50 a litre.... [ ABOUT £1.50- £1.60 a pint ]

I would argue that our European scouting network has not been great and probably not up to the job, we have invested a lot of money in this market and only made money on 1 player Kodjia, all of the rest have been losses and some here a very short time.

Mind you I don't think some have been handled very well.

I would agree, our scouting from Europe has been less than stellar.

We have signed some good players, but the likes of Magnusson and Eliasson were both poorly treated.
Nagy is inconsistent and probably still not settled. Pisano and Periera ok but both injury prone.

The less said about this rap sheet the better.
    Gieffer.
    Hegler.
    Duric.
    Engvall.
    Garita.
    Lucic.
    Diedhiou.
    Rodri.
And not forgetting Diony of course.

My eldest granddaughter was working as a nurse when of this list was undergoing his medical at private hospital prior to signing and after he left the building put a photograph up of herself looking truly pissed off saying "the look on my face after the 15th time of being told, did I tell you I was a professional footballer?".
