We'll know the positions on Friday, if not sooner. The point of it, potentially (if you put a positive spin on it), is that the second case - anti-competition - is actually being used to expose processes and communication via the 'cartel' and BeIN that would have had a direct impact on the first case (arbitration, i.e. takeover). So the timing of this second assault is about effectively speeding up arbitration, because the details NUFC want made public through that case will come to light quicker via the second case. I think it's foolish to believe the PL have acted fairly. They haven't and even if they feel they applied some of this O&D stuff fairly - which they probably didn't - they will know that discovery isn't a road they want to go down. Communication between BeIN, Hoffman and several clubs will have expressed varying degrees of unhappiness about it and I cannot believe for one second they were all talking about BeoutQ. Whether any of this allows PCP to take over the club is open to debate, but I think Staveley, NDM and others have made it their business to keep promoting the notion, so one would hope that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
The only thing is another breaking story that Ashley's attempts have failed and an influx of ****s on here. Another day of pleasure for the thousands that masterbated one PIFs withdrawal in August last year... A second serving of ass to my mouth for our desperate fanbase.
That is exactly why the case has been logged. It's a nuke in the arbitration and a back up. The court case will lead to public exposure of the juicy stuff.
They may yet ride it out. I mean, look at the ESL - as I’ve said repeatedly, we can’t look at the PL as some independent company, it’s the marketing department of 20 clubs, so 30%+ of its interest is controlled by those who would see it fail, so it’s slightly confused! The ESL breakaway should have been smashed if the PL was independent, but it’s not so nothing has really happened. They could quite literally decide to say “yeah, we failed it because KSA pirates our stuff, broadcast partners didn’t want it, and we didnt fancy Newcastle being big. What the **** are you going to do about it?” Then see what happens- most likely nothing.
i’ve become just as keen to see Masters and Hoffman + the Big Sicks be publicly exposed as lying scum as I am to see the Sheik’s money now. You can smell their hatred of NUFC - I hope they’re terrified as well as hate-filled. this kind of cartel behaviour, who knows how deep it would go, how many decisions have been influenced over the years. Even the annual fixture lists publication would be looked at with cynicism. team-****ing-Mike for me for a while
