I have the joy of living in Spalding so have been to watch them a few times...it’s fair to say that they are totally ****! A mate of mine watches them regularly (he has to avoid his Mrs I think) and he is appalled by the news - “****ing glory hunter”!! I’m not convinced there’s going to be much glory...

I watch Step 4 all the time. I love it! Might have to try and take in a Spalding Utd game some time. He's not the only former pro playing at that level. Carlos Edwards is at Bury Town and Billy Knott, who we used to have, is at Bowers & Pitsea who are Step 3.

Sometimes talents given to the wrong people, theres thousands of lads that would love to have a chance of being able to turn pro.
Being a footballer is a short career, he'd have loads of free time to play on his PlayStation when he retires.

Summed up in one picture why his football career never ended up taking off. Its crazy to think some fans wanted us to meet Peterboroughs 1.8m valuation for him only 2 years ago.

Its crazy to think only 3 years ago people on here were going crazy saying we should pay his 1.8m release clause to sign him for us after he publically said he'd like to come play for us.

It seemed strange at the time but Peterborough allowed his contract to run out, despite being one of their key players. He had a spell at Bolton and then Charlton, and both teams released him after only a few months and very little game time.
The main reason for this was because he was up half of the night every night of the week gaming on his Ps4, so he wasnt turning up for training and matches.
He decided to quit football about 18 months ago to become a professional gamer, saying its his one true passion, and being a professional footballer was effecting his mental health.

After 2 years of gaming all day and night he's decided he wants to become a footballer again. He got injured playing for some non league team last year, so he has set up a gofund me page to try and get 3k to pay privately for a career saving operation on his knee. He said its an 18 month wait on the Nhs and being 28 he needs it now otherwise in 18 months time he will be 30 and his chances of becoming a footballer again will be over.

The blokes totally lost the plot by the sounds of it. He reached his target this week, mainly after a few ex team mates chipped in so he could have it done.

Talk about talent being wasted on the wrong person.

What the actual ****? There should be some kind of qualification for that go fund me stuff.

Please help I blew a career that most can only dream of and all my cash as I thought I had a given right to play games all day. Turns out that gig didn't work out as I'm actually not that good at that and need tk go back to the original career that is very lucrative and what is to most people a passion and hobby anyway.

Talk about not realising how good you had it. Give up on the football fella go and get a normal 9-5 where it seems most of us will be struggling to pay to heat our ****ing homes on the standard living wage!

It makes me so annoyed, not turning up for training cause you are too busy on the ****ing playstation man. He was probably on 3k a week aswell, which in the football world isn't much but in the real world means none of the money worries your average person is facing these days!

I know, i know people that work 10 hours a day in more than one job just to he able to put food on the table and feed their kids. He actually has a kid aswell, he'll post pictures of himself with her sometimes when he's not gaming.
Its shocking that he's managed to just find 3k in a matter of days because at the age of 28 he's finally realised that not having a job and sitting on you're ar$e all day is not possible in the real world.
