Waiting to the end of the season so I can compare our first half to the second. Suspect we'll have been higher if we multiplied the second half by 2.

So, 26 points for the first half. That means 30 points in the 2nd half (to date). As 33 points is on for the full second half, that would extrapolate as 66 points - top 4!!!!

First half we were poor and they deserved to be in the lead, Kiko made some decent saves but he flaps around far too much. The second half we came into it and we deserved the goals.

Bamfords lack of being classed in the top striker bracket was highlighted when he was through one on one with their keeper.

Team selection was a bit strange, is this the cameo goodbye for Berardi and Kiko and why not Pablo too?

 

He would be a silly boy then.....he is number 1 end of, el loco makes bizarre decisions now and then but if he decides Coco is back at that position for next season then we won't be finishing as high as this guaranteed, and el loco would need certifying

 

I cannot see Berardi still being part of the squad next season. I know football is romantic but I just dont see this happening. Firstly he was leaving last Summer to go to Italy and Bielsa gave him a final farewell, he gets injured and everything cancelled. The club didnt have to but they extended his contract and managed his injury and got him fit again. Hes now 32 and has played in one match all season. We did similar with Pablo who wanted to go back to Spain and he has been kept around and has hardly played all season. Poveda has more minutes in than Pablo. I only see a farewell on Sunday for bith.

Putting my business head on why should we keep 2 senior players who may not play one minute next season. Why should I pay them thousands per week and they inly add a bit if togetherness to the dressing room? Why am I keeping them around when they take the place if 2 kids from the 23s

 

I better take back what I said going into the last 10 or so games. I couldn't see us picking up many points in the run in.

Plus the u23s are cheaper meaning more money for a couple of decent players with pace.

It turns out (with 11 games to go when I made my post) even I was pessimistic, as we are one point ahead of my prediction, and may end up 4 points ahead
