Prior to ENIC our average finish was 10th. Now it is 4th. But it's all their fault for not improving us more. That's insane.

Improving on the state Sugar left us in wasn`t exactly going to be difficult was it, all they have done is lift a club of our size back to where it was before Sugar and to where it belongs, among the top 6 clubs in the country. Unfortunately though, every time we have arrived at a position to really kick on in the last 20 years, and actually achieve something other than profit for the owners, ENIC have balked at the prospect every single time, in favour of the balance sheet. We have a once in a generation striker, who came through the academy and who loves Spurs, his family are all Spurs fans, and yet now he allegedly wants to leave for a better chance of achieving something, that should tell anybody all they need to know about the direction ENIC have taken us. Harry Kane is not bothered about average league finishes.

I genuinely do not get the free pass handed out to Kane IF this story is true.

What kind of player (who loves spurs) makes this public, 6 days before the end of the season when we still have a chance to qualify for European football?

I really hope it is not true but if it is it is as ****ty as the behaviour of Rose, Walker, Berbatov, Keane and Modric.

None of them showed respect to the fans either

No of course it's not difficult for big clubs to recover. Everton, Villa, Wolves, Portsmouth etc are all above us I see.
ENIC have taken us uniformly upwards.

I heard something about Rose's interview the other day which, while still making him look a petulant moron, is quite interesting

He didn't have the interview with Murdoch's Hate Comic a week or so before the season, he gave that interview a couple of months earlier and the phone hackers sat on it until they decided to release it at the time where it would do the most damage

I can't think why that sprang to mind now...

I wonder if Bayern should be mentioned as part of this conversation? Not as financially powerful as the others but Lewandowski turns 33 in the summer. Could they be in the market sooner rather than later for a prolific replacement?

Your argument ignores the rise of City and Chelsea through that period. You have a case on the basis that Spurs are a business not a club but you play a dangerous game in wishing for a new owner who you don't know and have no control over who that might be. It is just as likely to be a USA group who come in solely for the financial return as we see at Arsenal and United. The alternatives of billionaires are by their very nature ruthless so your wish for a nice tame cuddly billionaire who just loves Spurs looks naïve in the extreme.

He’s nowhere near as bad as the others. Most of those refused to train and play. Mason’s already confirmed Kane’s focused on today’s game.

We also don’t know the source of the leak, if there even is one. Ally Gold, the BBC and even Mason have said they’re unaware of Kane asking to leave, it’s only come from Sky and the general idea is that they believe it’s because of a gentleman’s agreement - which is probably true, many of us have even felt that Kane gave Spurs this season due to Jose, wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted out last summer.

So that’s probably why I’d say some of us haven’t chosen to villainise him so quickly.

I definitely think he wants out for what it’s worth and who can blame him but I’m not gonna make him public enemy number one based on Sky’s report especially as other sources have since said otherwise, it’s almost as if they’d want people lumping on SkyBet...

Its a game they often play

offer tempting odds on a story then ramp the story up...basic Jedi mind tricks

As you say though, this doesn’t mean Kane does not want to leave because I think he does but Sky is the only one banging on about it and we know why. We also know why Talksport are going on about it, it’s because they are sponsored by and promote Skybet

They can’t kid kidders can they DH?

Real G’s know this **** mate.

Everyone deep down probably knows he wants out, I’ve expected it since we knew this was gonna be another crap season but I don’t buy for one minute he or his people are the cause for this ‘leak’. I’ll take Ally Gold’s word over Sky’s any day.

Ali Gold reveals he is half Scottish and grew up in Glasgow, that surprised me. Disappointed he was a Rangers fan though, should have been Celtic

It was less than two weeks ago when Simone Inzaghi suddenly topped the odds to be our next manager entirely because Sky ran a story and people flocked to SkyBet

There has not been a single report from any reputable Italian source (yes, those do exist) about us making an approach for Inzaghi. There's been headlines about Conte, Sarri and Gasperini, but Inzaghi? Not a whisper over there

Not suprising. He'd fit in perfectly there, is PL proven and would cost significantly less than Haaland/Mbappe.

To me, it’s always been his obvious destination. That’s why I’m surprised some people here seem to think he won’t leave.

City have the money and will give him the trophies he wants. Again though I’ll say, is joining a team that has already won 3 titles in 4 seasons (and possibly European champions) and making it 4 out of 5 a big achievement? Or does he not care how he wins the league and/or cups?
