Back to the subject - someone texted me today about adopting a large African herbivore Had to decline for various reasons, chiefly the big responsibility involved, and reluctantly replied No gnu onus.
most people gave gary neville praise for dissing the superleague and its participents for being greedy. i just thought what a hypocrite and he needed to take a look at himself as do all the players happy to make inflated wage demands while "real people" live on another planet to them.
He played his entire career at one club, to my knowledge he never threatened to leave to get more money and though he was on a lot of money, it was nothing like the amounts player are on today. He's probably the most clued up and articulate ex-player around and as he's right in what he's calling for, good luck to him.
i dont know how anyone can justify his and players of his era's wages compared to nurses teachers etc ok so he's on a fraction of what players can earn today. doesn't make it right. its insane.
Film stars, pop stars, sports stars, they all earn big money, but it's entirely from the income that they generate. What nurses and teachers earn is completely irrelevant.
It's all comparative. You can make the argument about teacher's wages against almost any other profession let alone professional footballers.
lol i cant believe it when people try and justify the inequalities in society. you can spot the money grabbing pull the ladder up im all right jack capitalists a mile off. now i dont go around selling the big issue or indeed take any interest in politics. but my moral compass says this is wrong. maybe im wrong. ok they generate the wealth but is it right that they earn those stupidly insane amounts and can fork out £250 k on interior design without batting an eyelid and normal peoples babies die cos they cant afford operations etc. anyway back on topic. footballers are all greedy gits and i hate them all.
Mate, that's just life. Surely you would ask for £100k a week if you thought you could get it? I certainly would and so would you. Yes?
Whattaboutism is so lazy though. There's always someone worse off but does that mean no one should be able to be happy/proud of their accomplishments because "How dare you have anything nice you should be giving all your money away just cos"? Charity is fantastic and supporting the less fortunate is absolutely something we as a society need to do more of, but complaining that people who make large sums of money don't deserve it just cos there's people who earn less is a bit harsh. Although that all being said, the players at the top of the game like the Haaland's and Neymar's of the world is just gross.
Least Neville invested lots of that money in the football club, his hotels, the university, etc which now employs local people.
So Portsmouth players were valued at their worth while the club went to the wall ? Great stuff The **** you society is back then Forget all about a nicer society emerging cos of lockdown Let’s keep paying all those Lazy ****ing care workers **** all They probably aren’t asking for a pay rise anyway so **** em eh
