If Lee Johnson and his assistant being at the U23s game last night with KLD & KS doesn't tell people that Johnson is staying, I don't know what will.

This will be KLD's first window of ownership of the club, the January window was operated under Madrox yes? So this window will be the first real BIG test of KLD's ownership, and it will be LJ's first real test as a manger. I'm sure that LJ and KS will be in dialogue about who to sign, and who to offer deals to and such, fans just need to be a little patient, and not chomp off at the first bit of worrying news (I.E Wyke/McGeady leaving on frees or whatever else).

Isn't Remi Matthews out of contract? because if he isn't, next term (If we don't offer Burge a deal) it'll be a fight between Matthews & the youth keeper for the slot between the sticks.

 

IIRC something was mentioned about Mathews getting a new contract automatically if we were promoted I therefore assume that he is out of contract

Recruitment will be crucial for both LJ and KS.....It takes time for a new team to gel and lets face it, we WILL have a brand new team next season. They need to hit the ground running. If we find ourselves off the pace again as we did in the last season, LJ will find life uncomfortable especially with fans back in the stadium...I don't want this to happen, but this is Sunderland and its what some fans do.

 

Got to be honest - I love reading Remi Matthews' Twitter account. I mean its not hysterical or anything,it's just how I think he actually is as a person, just a bloke trying to get around life and reading his opinions, like Karl Pilkington haha

 

Karl pilkington is likely a better keeper the way Matthews plays!

Time will tell I guess, but am assuming the retained list yesterday, with Johnson's comments about players staying/leaving would mean he is staying too

 

I saw that the other day. I call bullshit on it. Everything the owner and Speakman have said is about the longer term plan, to get rid of him would make them look a bit silly and KLD doesn't strike me as being knee jerk in his decision.

If anything, the amount of time the takeover took to happen, he would appear to have the patience of a saint.

Fans groups had another meeting with the club this evening. Minutes to be published soon according to a thread over the road.

 

Feels like we are resetting the team this close season. Absolutely needed to happen but the worry is we are going to need time again to get the team playing the way that is expected

 

Suspect we'll play more friendlies than last 2 close seasons. No excuses for not getting frees in early too. If they have pre season together they should be ok. If trams cobbled together just before the deadline we'll be in trouble.

Good read those. Pitches at academy and SoL to get the investment they need, competitive prices on the concourse, better options for food and drink, contactless payment, more backroom staff to be appointed. Sub groups for fanzone, family zone etc.

The daft deal Sd did for beer earlier in the year. I wonder if it includes fanzone/safc ventures outside of sol. If not I'd be contacting maxim and or vaux breweries and getting them to sell with percentage going to club. That way no loss as they'd take any not sold. Just a thought.
