Bristol City stance on swoop for key Blackpool cog revealed https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/bristol-city-stance-on-swoop-for-key-blackpool-cog-revealed/
Telling a player he is a secondary option for the club is hardly likely to make him want to come is it! It's an odd thing to come out with from the club?
I'm sorry but there may be some truth in this piece of so called journalism who knows? but I would be very sceptical about it's origins personally. Or of course it could mean that our sights are set higher in the striker department, again who knows? certainly not any of the so called journo's.

MORE LIKELY a FLW comment as opposed to BCFC Think they said the same about Ollie Watkins [ Exeter?] and Ivan Toney [Peterbrough ] but did gift them Sammie Smoz!
Transfer gossip: QPR linked with Charlton forward By West London Sport 01/06/2021 QPR are interested in Charlton forward Chuks Aneke, it is claimed. Teamtalk claim Rangers are one of as many as a dozen Championship keen on Aneke. Others mentioned include Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Reading and Coventry. The 27-year-old’s contract at Charlton is about to expire and his representatives are looking to secure him a move. https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr...ity-middlesbrough-charlton-chuks-aneke-010621
Sheffield Wednesday: Bristol City want Tom Lees https://www.footballfancast.com/she...ours/wednesday-moore-lees-bristolcity-pearson Can we afford him he is on £22k per week?
I think a lot of players will have to re-evaluate their demands this summer. I doubt he will get much more than £18k a week in this climate
well no transfer fee .. running contracts out give player a better chance for wages eg ..should it cost £3,000,000 then a 3 year deal could add £19k to wage negotiation! or ………. That would mean give him £22k real cost is £3k!
Bristol City add Middlesbrough target to shortlist as Nigel Pearson looks to reinforce attack Bristol City are in the market for a new striker with Famara Diedhiou leaving the club on a free transfer https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-middlesbrough-target-pearson-5480924
10 goals isn’t great for a main striker, and at 29 unlikely to improve that much. Not sure this is the direction to go in?
All I can say is his record is no worse than Diedhiou's and he scored in both games against us and we could not cope with his physicality in way shape or form. Unlike Dedhiou (who apparently still has his supporters) and is as easy to mark as my wheelie bin. Not my first choice but I can see why we might be looking but certainly physically an upgrade on Diedhiou IMHO and probably fits the description of a different club in the bag. I think the problem is with most football fans they view a striker through goals scored and not whether unlike the departing Diedhiou he can actually hold the ball up, to bring others into the game or relieve the pressure on the defence, when needed. He is a target man and not a main striker, just like Alby Wilbraham was and boy could we could have done with a player like him over the past 2 seasons. PS:- Unlikely to cost 5.3mil either.
I get that, but if he comes in we must assume Wells is the main striker? This guy seems similar to Chris Martin for me, but could be good backup?
Look I promise that I am not looking for an argument but he is absolutely nothing like Martin at all, Martin is not and never has been a target man he is only 5foot 10inches tall, but his strength lies in creating chances for strikers like Wells, he is strong and can hold the ball up yes, but he is a clever footballer and probably one of the few in our squad that actually possesses a football brain, his early season assists in wins probably eventually kept up us in this division in the long run. If Martin had had pace, he would have played at a far higher level. He is one of the best number 10's at championship level IMHO.
'Brilliant but people will moan' - Bristol City fans react to prospect of Rotherham star signing Rotherham United striker and Middlesbrough target Michael Smith is among the forwards Bristol City are looking at as Nigel Pearson bids to strengthen the Robins attack https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-rotherham-striker-signing-5482358
There are possibilities hanging around the lower divisions that could do a job for us but they had better hit the ground running if recruited. Although loanees can be part of the scenario I would prefer us to supplement our squad with players that are more likely to stick around after the end of the season and give us impetus and team comfort going in to the next season. I have firm belief that NP will build the new look Bristol City based on player ability and trust, and given his years leading some very good players to the upper echelons of the game I would expect our revival to be a slow methodical growth to put us on track for a shot at something better. I'm even going to stick my cash on watching City on Robins T.V. which will give me a chance at watching the team growth rather than the grass growing under our feet as in years past.

Maybe worth a punt, he's the right age, mostly played French lower ligues and French Ligue 2 and Italian league 2. My concern with most players coming from the French ligues is whether they can cope with the physicality of the English game? Diedhiou certainly never came to terms with it, Kodjia did but had more skill and pace which helped.
