It's funny how some people like to sprout bollocks without doing any actual research themselves. Sort of like "i heard it off a friend of the neighbours milkman so it must be true." I'm sure that if i said the Charlie Wyke had more shots and a higher % on target than Raheem Sterling this past season some people would state it's bullshit without looking.
He has missed the boat to be a 'top' player. Talent yes, but hard work and willingness to graft and be part of a bigger team picture....it's a no from me. Which is a shame because he is the 'type' of player that gets SAFC fans out of their seats. Something just isn't quite right.
To be fair mate, only bitter/twisted/wums could be upset with that comment ... ... if people aren't wums it doesn't apply to them
Just seeing some mates, plus he’s still got a rented apartment up here. Think people are setting themselves up for disappointment here unfortunately.
I can see where you are coming from? I think. What's the agenda. Are you happy with anything safc related?
I've never understood the concern some posters have for the feelings of total strangers. If people are eventually disappointed about Sanderson they'll live through it and carry on as normal ... ... I doubt there'll be any need to hide sharp knives or rope off the bridge.
I agree with you marra, **** knows why some people even bother if they can only find the negative or try to piss on others chips
If we sign Sanderson it will be an incredible signing. I actually think a team like Norwich should be trying to sign him. Hes a premier league player in making and frankly if I was his agent I would be telling him to think much bigger than l1
What would you do? A company offers you a 50k contract to perform your day job in a low level organisation or a massive firm offer you 10+ times as much to do an identical job fir them? I’d be working for the latter for half a mil personally! Footballers will only see the numbers on the contract. Most will not care where that contract is to play. Unless London or Manchester clubs are involved of course wouldn’t blame him either
You're quite right that players should aim for the best situation possible ... ... we have to make that situation Sunderland and attract players with hunger and ambition. We've tried paying them more and ended up with jaded mercenaries who've treat the club as a retirement home with boozy afternoons and half arsed excursions onto the pitch. We need to attract dynamic players who want to be part of something exciting. We should emphasise our plans, training & management structure, facilities, stadium and fan base. By all means pay players what they're worth and pay bonuses & incentives for achieving the aims of the club. Simply throwing money at players would be just be repeating the mistakes of the past ... ... and heaven knows we've made enough already. It's time to do things differently, and better.
This all day long....we need to be the club players want to sign for because they know we will improve them....meaning they go onto be a top end player then make the huge contracts. how many young players have signed a say 20k week deal, not progressed & thats the highest point of their career. we need players who are hungry enough to say bollocks im taking the 7/10k a week deal knowing im going to be a 60/70k a week player in 3 years time or whatever. Unfortunately the sense in that lot is shadowed by the lack of care the agents have for them & simply want their cut of the 20k deal now....and a new young player will come along to make more money out of. Our set up is shaping up for young players, like sanderson to say wow, the training, the coaching, the aftercare, the analytical side, the facilities.......and im preparing myself for the higher pressure of the top level beccause im already going to be playing infront of 30k+ crowds. we will and are capable of offering a route to progression no other club can....they have just got to look at the long term not what i will earn in next 2/3 years
Quite agree. We need a clever mix or players that are good enough and "want to be here" and... well quite frankly you get what you pay for. Throwing money around at everything as you know doesn't work. I'm excited about the future for a change. Hopefully in a few years time I'll be able to regurgitate phrases like "I remember when we were getting beat off Burton at home Son" as we line up for the Champions League semi final at home. lol
