I think there was always a risk rumours of Defoe or similar statement signing would skew what we were expecting.

Burns and Evans Aren't names im fully aware of, though seem to be part of a planned recruitment policy, so overall it feels more positive. As always proof will be in the points

It might not matter too much who it is that comes in. Having a big turnover of playing staff is going to clear out the losing mentality and negative culture amongst Paul Lambert’s old players.

Appreciate the heads up he seems to have split opinion at city.

the fact is this football is a business and our new owners are running an investment opportunity here. And MA has proven he can make a club a commercial success. That doesn’t necessarily mean a sporting one though you’d hope the two go hand in hand. Bitt line is we’re all aboard the ship now and slapping each other’s backs but we’ll have to see whether they steer us towards profit AND on pitch success or just profit before we can mutiny.

what’s weird, and I’m not internet whizz, I can’t find anything on him. No Twitter, no Wikipedia entry. Just a banal LinkedIn profile.

wasn’t he a player? He seemed to imply that in the interview. He’s transitioned to corporate for sure.

I’m chuffed. He’s a ton better than what we have, he’s got masses of pace, goals on him and a Fleetwood fan will tell you he’ll create plenty of chances in games so if you have a decent striker….Norwood might just be rubbing his hands with glee…

mom assuming he’s the right side of the forward three. I can see Jackson on the left. He’s got pace. We’ve got evans to improve the midfield….and there must be plans to up spec the goalkeeper and find some creativity for the midfield. Now that’s a team that can start to sound fun to me. Not finished by any stretch but a million miles away to where we were at the end of the season.

Personell changes around Jackson may improve him it's true but I'm sceptical, for me he hasn't made the step up from the lowest league and I'm beginning to think along the lines of " you can't develop what's not there " hope I'm wrong.

I think the phrase you’re looking for is “You can’t polish a turd!” ;)

I said it last season (our first in league one) you can't expect to be a team challenging for automatic promotion with Jackson in your first team. He's not a bad player but for me he's a good one to have up your sleeve to bring on, although saying that he's never really been electric when he's come on. I'm thinking of Danny Haynes, not a great first team player but probably one of the best players you could bring off the bench as an impact sub.

He didn’t cut the mustard as a footballer, not a single first team appearance as far as I know and it was years before Wikipedia and Twitter came along - since then he’s been running football clubs and businesses - so there’s nothing sinister in that.
