I hope the HDM continually mentioning Josh Bowler’s availability doesn’t mean anything other than them trying to fill column inches. There was nothing more depressing than his utterly predictable one-footedness. At least Wilks makes an impact and will occasionally use his other foot.
Bowler was shocking and not needed we have Wilks and KLP he will only be as bench warmer here. Gavin Whyte much better player
And also more expensive in both wages and transfer fees. I didn’t think Bowler was that bad, but I’d rather Samuelsen was given another go.
Sadly I think he’s out of our price range. He’ll have been on at least £10k at Cardiff, unless he wants to take a massive pay cut.
I’m hoping reality hits a lot of teams & players, outside the PL wages, transfer fees should be dropping a lot. They probably won’t, but judging by some of the players that have been released by teams, I think players might have to just take a step back & rethink their demands. Outside the top 6/7 PL teams, I think it’ll be a case of less money spent all round.
Probably. There’ll be a lot of out of contract footballers that I think will have to re evaluate their salary expectations. I know Whyte is still under contract.
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw one this week. Edit... Responding to the wrong thread! But still worth putting in here
Yes, like I said, the top 6 or 7 will spend stupid money. Villa think they’re bigger than they are, because of their history. I have no idea what it’s going to take to get through to football clubs & spending stupid money. If Sheff Wed go to the wall, will that be enough? Or will it take a PL team to go bust? At some point that money tree is going to stop, maybe not anytime soon, but within the next 10 years, there’s going to be some serious damage done to more than 1 big club if money isn’t started to come under control. I heard the other day, that the FFP was being relaxed, I have no idea how, to help clubs out. To me, that’s an excuse for a team like Villa, to go out & spend stupid money & not having to worry about their finances.
I'd rather give Scott another go.... Samuelson its too lightweight for the Championship IMO... Have a feeling that Scott might just be the 'sleeper' this year... when I saw the pics of the celebrations he seemed very much part of the group.... maybe a pre season and settling might give him the game time to flourish.. I dont think you become a bad player overnight...
