I’d be happy with this. Can’t say I know much about him but he has solid European cup experience and he’s monstrously big, so hopefully adds a bit of that steeliness we are looking for.
With a bit of Mario thrown in: "Loncar stands at around 6ft 1ins tall and mostly featured as a defensive midfielder for Rijeka this season but is also capable of playing on the left." Just the man we need on a cold night in Burnley. This has cheered me up no end. Transfermarkt lists him as 1.9m which is just a shade under 6'3" and he's equally comfortable with either foot. At 25 he should be just coming into his prime.
Pinkun has now changed its story: "An overnight report that Bosnia & Herzegovina international Stjepan Loncar is close to agreeing a deal to join Norwich City is believed to be inaccurate." Not sure whether that means we're not interested or that the deal is not imminent.
Latest in EDP says this report is wide of the mark. He is likely to be granted a work permit it there is a deal because of European experience.
If it means we're not interested, I wonder why not? Here's a scouting report with more details and a 5 minute compilation from 2019-20: https://www.veoh.com/watch/v1419889589xJMBsfA He does look very good in both attack and defence. Edit: Here's another scouting report with even more details for those interested: https://totalfootballanalysis.com/p...202021-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics
Maybe we've identified better options and would only be interested if other targets were missed, hence the quote "An overnight report that Bosnia & Herzegovina international Stjepan Loncar is close to agreeing a deal to join Norwich City is believed to be inaccurate."
Having had loanee Josip Drmic as a recent team mate, Loncar should already know plenty about the club.
The other options mentioned in the article would probably cost £5-10m which would take a huge chunk out of a budget of around £30m, maybe £45m if Aarons leaves and we need 6 more players. It's possible that the inaccuracy lies in the phrase "is close to" agreeing a deal.
Couple of GK rumours: Nyland to Hamburg Barden on loan to Livingstone And McLean to the BBC, he's doing punditry for Scotland games: https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/bbc-add-canaries-midfielder-as-euros-pundit-8043286 Oh, and that photo of Skipp "looking at houses?". Not photoshopped, but apparently he was getting his car back after having some work done on it.
Heise (remember him?) has completed a permanent transfer to Karlsruher. Presumably a free transfer, no fee mentioned.

I'm afraid that one was killed a couple of days ago Connor Southwell on Twitter: "That is me done for a couple of days. Been hectic and long. Now to enjoy some sunshine and relaxation. Hopefully, when I return we'll have some actual football to discuss! As a leaving gift, Matheus Pereira or Norbert Briasco aren't on #NCFC's radar. See you Friday!" On the other hand Michael Bailey has more positive news: "Michael Bailey's latest article in The Athletic suggest Brandon Williams on loan is one deal the club are pursuing with "encouraging signs" it'll be able to be done." Well that's positive about a loan signing perhaps, except that it probably means that Max will be off shortly after.
Why would we take a 20 y.o. with little PL experience on loan? With an option to buy he could be for the future, but not at £9m. I'm only concerned about this coming season right now. There's also a question about his height. WhoScored says 1.71m, Transfermarkt says 1.80m.
I share your concerns CS, but you could look at it two ways. First, he's a player with 6 league appearances this season, two as sub and 17 the season before, 6 as sub, and 18 cup appearances over the last 3 years. That was enough to earn him a single cap for England U21s. Perhaps he would have more if it wasn't for a certain Max Aarons ahead of him. On the other hand, Oli Skipp had even less experience when we took him on loan at the same age. He could turn out like that or he could be another Patrick Roberts, also from a big club, who managed to contribute nothing to the previous PL season - well, the 5 months until he left anyway. Wiki also says he's 1.71m tall. He describes his style of play like this: "I think the modern full-back is an attacker as well. I like attacking. I like defending. I love getting up and down." So there you are...
I agree, my only question is whether Mumba could make it. And let’s not forget Byram (if he ever will be fit). So do we need a right back right now? One on loan might be enough.
Mumba may be seen as the long-term solution, but as he can also play as a wide attacker (as opposed to a winger), DF might see him as an option in that role as well. Williams does have PL experience playing for a top club and training with them as well, which could well be enough, but as you say there are two other good options as well. I'm coming around to this as a solution, even if I'm not excited about it.
