Really good performance, to play in that heat and to control the game as they did was great credit to all the players and management team. Now, please please please beat the Auld enemy.
Agree with efficient and job done .... but being honest, it was us that i expected (hoped) for a little bit more from. Predictable and conservative. We have some really exciting players, hopefully they get given a bit more freedom from Southgate going forward - maybe more likely in knock out stages? Good to get off to a winning start though.
You have to play your way into these tournaments. The expectation is massive especially playing at home. This win will build confidence and momentum. Whisper it quietly but footballs coming home. Its coming home. Footballs coming home.....
Early days yet, given it's the first game of the tournament and it was 20-odd degrees out there I thought we showed plenty. The only minor question mark for me was Harry Kane, thought he looked a yard off the pace for most of the game.
Think I heard this is the first time in either 10 tournaments or ten Euros that we started with a win .. had to giggle to myself reading the pre match questioning of the team .. Phillips m.o.m by a country mile .. Mings had a decent game (although I agree he is a mistake waiting to happen) , Stirling who has been dropped by Pep was our shining light up front ! .. good solid start, very professional.. Happy with the 3 points .. but I wish someone would have a word in Harry's ear and remind him he is in the team to be a centre forward not central midfielder.
From a neutral point of view the best team won. From a tournament point of view it’s our first game. End of chat... Allam’s OUT.
Sadly, someone fell from a stand at Wembley today and is critical in hospital. I hope he/she is okay.
Ha! That's pathetic. I will miss the match because my wife has arranged for me to scatter her aunt's ashes at 1.30. Beat that. I am recording it then doing a Likely Lads.
My wife's aunt was Scottish.. My wife said, "It's only a football match. There are loads of them." To be fair, I did watch all of City's league matches as well.
