Chambers has signed for Col U. A fantastic player for us for several years and always gave 100% even when his best days were behind him. We will never forget the trademark first pump.

All the best to all the culled players. Some good, some average, some bad. No hard feelings and the best of luck to all of them.

Shame. I would say after Woolfy and KVY the player I rated most highly.

He was one of the few who ever seemed likely to make something happen.

Cornell has also moved on. Possibly the worst ‘keeper to ever pull on the jersey.

Sorry to see Edwards depart. One of a clutch who might have fulfilled their ambitions in the new regime.

Nice dignified post Hampy. Completely agree. They all (mostly) did their best in the circumstances of an underfunded disjointed and understaffed club.

we need to get **** if a few more we’ve still got so many players on the books and we’re signing new ones as fast as we’re dropping the old ones.

Edwards should have been able to play a role in PCs system. It makes me feel Jackson’s position at the club is strengthening and I just wonder if we’re going to see a very different player if he’s in a team set up differently. I can see him doing a job in L1 as a left sided forward in a three with his pace.

To be fair Edwards promised much but rarely delivered and to say he was inconsistent is an understatement to say the least, if you can't do the job you're paid to do then you have to go, it's that simple.

Fair enough FM, but to be fair we all know that many players underperformed, as a result of being poorly motivated and poorly managed & trained in a club that was evidently rotten to the core. Club morale and spirit sinks like a stone in such times, as does player confidence. What we are witnessing long overdue is a total overhaul, and lets hope it actually works.

Time will tell and only a few weeks now to the new season.

I am a little excited about the season ahead, and I havent said that for what, 10 years!

It's very difficult as gaffer says, no one has really painted themselves in the best light at PR in nearly well over a decade, so many poor performances, it's hard to judge whether any of these players could do a good job if they had the support mechanisms in place.

That goes for Chambers who I think I would say had 1 very good season in his whole time here and then apart from that all I can say on the pitch was that he actually consistently played. Despite his longevity I don't think he'll go down in the history books here.

As for Edwards, perhaps I only saw him on his better days but every time I've watched him he's usually been a 7 out of 10 and even if he wasn't having the best of games he would still be in the game buzzing up and down. He's one who I think has proven he can do a job at this level. Whether it's a shame we didn't keep him, only time will tell.

Dozzell I'm a bit mixed about, I've never seen him have a good game, to me he still looked like an academy player technically very good and range of passing was brilliant but as a midfield play maker didn't influence the game enough. I probably would've kept him for another season to see how he got on in a better hopefully more supportive environment for a young player to come through.

One player I see who IS delivering is Kieffer Moore who only made a handful of appearances for us but impressed me in the one outing I saw him that if memory serves would have been at Huddersfield.

Loads of talented players have underperformed at Town and I would liken it to a bowl of fruit. The best ones have all been taken out of the bowl when they are ripe and Cook has seen that there are enough mouldy apples and pears to warrant throwing the whole bowl out and getting fresh fruit in.

Very good analogy.... I'd say we didn't even have a fruit bowl (staff structure) and now we have but not much fruit

I agree about Edwards & Dozz, and only daw Kiefer Moore once, a robust, bullying forward who put himself about.

On another stage, nice to see Englands promising youngsters playing with confidence, but poor old Scotland.

I could see it going that way for Scotland from the build up. There was so much pressure and the commentator said if they get through the group they’d be the greatest ever Scottish side - they are absolutely miles away. There was a lot of snatching at the ball and if they had just been a bit more level headed they probably would have got something out of the game. They have a long way to go to even match the quality of sides like Slovakia.

No question they didn’t have luck on their side on the day though every time a defender makes a block or the keeper makes a save it’s perhaps because they had the quality to put their body in the right position. Let’s hope that luck balances out against Croatia and not England.

On the subject of the old guard I’m wondering if MM days are numbered at Cardiff after another heavy defeat at home. So glad he’s not our problem anymore, even if I felt he did a decent job under the circumstances of an owner like ME.
