Agreed and this is a huge worry for me. Even in a depressed market, if we sell Kane the vast majority of whatever we make will have to be reinvested into the attack by buying a ST and a creative AM. That'll need £80-90m minimum which leaves just £60m to deal with RB, CB x2 and CM.

I'd vastly prefer it if he can be persuaded to stay for one more year with an agreement that he's gone next summer. Then we can aim to raise decent money by selling:
    Foyth - £12m (done)
    Alli/Winks - £20m
    Dier - £20m
    Ndombele - £30m
    Sissoko - £10m
    Aurier - £10m
    Lamela - £15m

Most of whom are out of contract next year so will be high priority to sell this window. That raises (not unrealistically either) circa £120m which can be divided into 3 £40m players and go a huge way to overhauling the squad without selling our best player and literally having to start from scratch.

Then next season with (hopefully) 3-4 new players plus Skipp/Sess/Rodon more integrated and settled, sell Kane and rebuild the attack.

    The highlighted bit

This is where an owner spends his money on the football club he owns whilst getting a helping hand from the sale of one of the best strikers in the world…not totally reliant on that sale.

if that’s the only source of transfer money, then what can I say that I already haven’t.

If we can get a price for Winks, Dier, Sanchez, Lamela, Sissoko, Moura that would add good funds to our rebuild. We have £300k a week wage savings on Bale, so funds should be plentiful without going to Uncle Joe's piggy bank.
If Kane is going, he would be the only 1st team player lost out of that lot (maybe Moura/Bale is arguably another).
In a dream world, Rodon, Tanganga and Skipp really kick on, we are starting to look strong. Get N'Dombele firing.......alright I've gone too far

I did feel out of control typing that, second hand smoke is the only explanation.
So much so, I forgot proceeds from Foyth (in the bag) and Aurier (close apparently)

And we’ll likely get a sell on fee from Marcus Edwards and a small amount for CCV. Little bits but they all add up.

I’m more interested in outgoings than incomings this summer. Getting rid of the dross has to be the priority.

Lucas is not dross. He is one of the only players who was trying most of the season. He was about the only player trying in the LC final (goodness knows why he was subbed).

Remember when we were briefly linked with Gattuso after his departure from Napoli before he joined Fiorentina last month?
He's available again, rather bizarrely. La Viola didn't want to deal with the transfer demands of his agent, apparently.
Who'd have thought that Jorge Mendes was a dodgy twat? Gattuso to Wolves soon?

    ****ing hell... Really?!

Di Marzio is now also saying that we've contacted Gattuso... Honestly this club is a mess at the moment.

I am at a loss as what the hell is going on now - Just incredible that we can keep losing people for whatever reason lots of rumours but no really seems to know why this one has fallen through! Gattuso favourite now in all honesty I would rather have Scott Parker than him and Parker was very near the bottom of my wishlist when this process started but right now we are such a mess that maybe he would a safe pair of hands.

Gattuso is such an uninspiring appointment.

Hardly done well at any of his clubs, not known for any attractive/ entertaining brand of football, is an absolute hot head who just won't work well with Levy (even if Paratici will be the middle man).

    ****ing mess, it really is.

<laugh> Yet more pure comedy gold from Levy. Has there ever been a more appropriate time for these useless parasites known as ENIC to fack off.
