    Hi Ron,

I think my score is wrong, I have two winners, Dream Of Dreams and Rohaan.

    Thanks.

My apologies Pilgrim. I put it down to the fact that my glasses broke and I lost one of the lenses and I have been making do with just one lens (bi focals). I marked Rohan as losing. Hope I didn't cock up any others

Revised table. Well done Pilgrim. Sorry Joe

    Thank you very much Ron.

I understand you perfectly, I just got my new glasses with progressive lenses ten days ago and I can't see anything at all. It's a waste of money. And even though they are top of the range.

I have had the same glasses since before I came to France 16 years ago. I've broken the frames twice but never before lost a lens. Now I do need new glasses but haven't had time to organise it. When I tried progressive lenses, I tested them reading the horse form in a sporting journal and I could not get used to them at all. I was told that you do get used to them once you learn how to move your head correctly. I plumped for the bi-focals as they were perfect, and a lot cheaper. I suppose I'll have to go through all that again so it will be interesting to see how these progressive lenses have developed. I never wear glasses for sport (ie football and table tennis) so I suppose my eyes can't be too bad. I have always considered that wearing glasses continuously actually weakens eyesight so I take them off whenever I can

I am sincerely disappointed. I find it unbelievable that glasses that have cost me nearly a thousand euros give such a poor result. And as you say, reading the horse form, or anything else, is practically impossible if you move your head slightly. With the computer it's almost the same but I seem to be getting used to it and I don't think it's good for my eyes to be focusing and defocusing all the time. Anyway, I'll take it as if I've had a bad year with the Cheltenham early bets. Anyway, with the serious health problems I have had (and still have) for a few months now, these things are "pecata minuta".

    Thanks for the advice.

I have exactly the same experience - paid €900 and really don't like wearing them - I feel drunk half the time as they really distort your vision when you move your head. Slowly getting used to them now but I don't wear them so often.

Good on ye Pilgrim well done. I enjoyed my minute of fame on top of the Saturday comp. My luck had to run out, good to see ability quashing quantum tunnelling.

It's unbelievable that with the money they cost I can see so badly. It's unfortunate, and although they tell you that you'll get used to them in a month, it's impossible if the field of vision is so narrow.
