Sadly the ball smashed has got lucky today and the greens had slowed right up so he has recovered to -1.

The twat McIlroy is getting pasted though.

The top of the Augusta field is shaping up quite nicely for a big finish though.

    F1 qualifying...

Hamilton gets the century of poles then. Qualifying not very exciting again, especially the second run out in Q3; only Perez improved after not posting a time initially.

Twas a good effort after verstappen smashed q2. Wind picked up I think.

Their tyre choice is interesting though for the race which will be a boring one. Barca always is

I see that despite hammering red bull l tactically and in terms of driver Mercedes are still up to the same old same old dirty tricks.

hamilton and mercedes worked up a prearranged radio chatter about the red bull rear win flexing on the straight to try and get the FIA to take action and fo course what do the FIA do? they take action. By june 15th all teams have to pass some sort of new test or other.

horner claims their wing is find and of course doesn't dare cross hamilton so says it must be coming for wolff who nobody likes anyway.

of course red bull hiring half the Mercedes engine team has nothing at all to do with this.

any time a team challenges mercedes they run straight to the stewards to get things removed from cars.

Max Verstappen really not happy after qualifying <laugh>

TBF, he's got a point. Yes, he should have got a better time earlier in Q3 but wtf was Bottas doing? I understand his frustration at having to give tow and not getting the return favour but his actions didn't just effect the team, it ****ed the entire pack <laugh>

Oh ****! I was hoping the first safety car was what you meant but obviously not. Ridiculous that tyres are blowing out in that situation tbf, twice at over 200mph!

Edit; hadn't seen the restart when I posted that... Hamilton <laugh><laugh>

Lots of unhappy drivers today. Maybe Verstappen's and Hamilton's unhappiness just cancel each other out though <laugh>. Glad Perez won another race now he's in the RB car. Not the first time Pirelli have had blow out problems. Personally I think they should introduce random 'duff' tyres so there's an element of Russian roulette to the races <laugh><whistle> less difficult and expensive to implement than sprinkler systems to wet sections of a dry track

    It was great stuff.

Probably 2 lucky drivers as they neither spearing head on into a wall nor got hit by someone.

But the gasly, le clerc battle at then end was great.

    Super stuff

Max was on for a comfortable win with Lewis in third, I think he'll be more pissed.

Lewis will be more annoyed at himself, he didn't need to push on the restart, he could have just taken second with Max not scoring.

Interesting qualifying and nice grid for tomorrow. Max 0.238secs quicker than Lewis is quite the gap!

Theres nothing better than marginal strategy and two teams actually competing.

First the tyres simply didnt hold up to the rate the teams expected so their comfortable 1 stop tyre and fuel saving ****e was out the window and they had to react. Maybe it was the tyre pressure stuff who knows.

Second the two teams pushing meant they were those tyres.

Mercedes went conservative and red bull went aggressive. Had red bull sat back and hoped it would have been a dull race with just a hope for something to happen.

Perez going long might even have won.

Anyway, it was good cos there was some actual passing without drs (Vettel early was pass of the day imo) and the drs was basically lamb to slaughter stuff.

Hopefully there will be more good racing like this as the season goes on.

As long as the crazy stuff keeps coming and pirelli dont go conservative.

It's clear the teams like Mercedes will still push the tyres to the limit being conservative and trying to one stop but now red bull have the pace to splash and dash.

I love seeing a car actually pushed, not cruising on auto pilot.

Bottas is an inferior driver I have little time for. Hes basically fairly average and only there cos Wolff has him as a driver pre mercedes.

However he clearly signalled he was not going to save Hamilton but in the end he could have maximum one more lap to the point where he was easy meat on drs.

I doubt you or me would allow verstappen in the tight bits by 5 seconds if we were treated like **** either.

The reason I dont respect bottas is hamilton would have said he was coming in the end and be ready then just come in. Bottas told them and then still went along with their plan knowing he knew better. That's the definition of not backing yourself

I knew a guy who used to play that as his local course all the time.

Lovely bloke and that but really didnt like working with us oiks. He was moved from his legal type.job to working as a strategic manager and had to actually talk to people.

Offered me a round there when I was over in the area.

Of course I am not an oap so I dont chase the small ball round a park slowly.
