I think Limelighter in the first at Lingfield looks worth a bet. Was 2nd fav in a stronger handicap at Newbury last time out (5th). Trevor Whelan is a decent booking and the horse is on a good mark.

At Southwell I'll take a chance on Ardbruce (1.00) and Tribemans Glory (1.30)

    Pontefract 2.25 Breaking Records

Defied much higher marks in 2018. Last run wasn't bad in my opinion when pressing leader for a long way.Runs again on a career-low mark today and added blinkers could eak out some improvement. Michael and David Easterby had several runners in the money last 14 days. If the horse gets out quick from stall 11 this prominent racer could go well under Cieran Fallon.

At Pontefract it could be worth to back both runners from Micky Hammond. From the yard's website:

"Frankelio goes to post in the 4.30.pm, a 0-85 handicap over the mile, where he will face five rivals. Frankelio was last seen at York 37 days ago when finishing a more than respectable keeping on runner up over seven furlongs on soft ground, with a gaping four lengths back to the third horse. On the bare form it has to be said that it is quite a surprise that the handicapper has thankfully left him on the same mark of 69. Frankelio was a course and distance winner off this mark last season, where like now he was ridden by Graham Lee.

Our other runner is the five times winner Dragons Will Rise who steps up to 10 furlongs for the first time in the female Amateur Jockeys 0-70 at 5.35.pm, with Becky Smith on board for the first time. You can forget Dragons Will Rise's last start at Thirsk as he stumbled leaving the stalls, and had little chance after that from the bad draw in stall 14. Prior to that he was a winner at Pontefract over a mile, from an 8lb lower mark than now. Since his winning run began he has steadily climbed the handicap by 21lb to 70. This race appears to not be over strong, and the step up in trip is likely to suit.

I probably should but I have only been an Ayamontino for six years which still makes me an estrangero

    Hello, team.

Was going to tip one today (Dolphin) but unfortunately the old girl is now a non-runner. Regular readers hide your disappointment stoically. Check the non-runner list though, people, before any wagering today as there are wodges of the things.

Meanwhile, I see that the headline on the Racing Post website states that Barney C is coming to your TV screens! Again though the regular readers will need to hide their disappointment stoically as they are referring to a Barney Curley type documentary.

Good luck to those wagering today.

If you have lived six years in Ayamonte you are almost the family. Still "extranjero" but part of the family.Naranjito was the mascot of the football world cup that was held in Spain in 1982. It's the avatar that Teletexpear has chosen.

Edit: Football no soccer. The damn automatic translator.

Breaking Records is in next months 'Horses In Training' sale. Not sure if this makes you more confident, less confident or has no effect whatsoever.

I have opposed you in this with Hurstwood although not too sure of the form as won the last day in a race split on both sides of the track

I didn’t like much in today’s racing, to be fair.

    But…..

i thought the Sylvester Kirk’s entry, Alicestar, in the 3:55 Pontrefact was interesting.
Ran a respectable race in a Group 3 race for David Simcock.

I was going to back Tinto in the 7:00 at Windsor, but not at 11/2.
