So, on Saturday 21st August, will we be signing "coz they've got (clap clap) Marco Silva, they've got .... " If only he could have pulled the near impossible off with us, who knows where we'd be now.
He walked out on Hull City. We gave him a leg up into English football and he used us like a cheap whore. He was offered another deal at City but didn't want to know. He and his staff of which he had considerable numbers had cleared there desks before the season had ended. No love lost here.
Hang on he was offered another contract at City. So Watford ? Not much long term security there and I would question if it were a better job at all. Look at the squad Silva was allowed to put together at City compared to the one he inherited at Watford.
Silva brought in some great players, but they were all on loan and we had no chance of keeping them after we were relegated. He nearly pulled off a miracle to keep us up and we played some of the best football I've ever seen from a City side under him.
And then he got us relegated from a position of being three points above the relegation places with three games to go, two at home and one of them against a club that were already relegated. Plus he had the future England and Scottish captains in his back four. And you obviously didn't see much of City under Terry Dol*n and Mark Hateley
You think we played better football under Dolan and Hateley compared to Silva? Were you pointing towards the pitch on match days in the 1990s?!!
Is he leaving Bournemouth after a few days? The shortest management tenancy ever has to be Liam Rosenior's dad. 30 minutes.
He was offered another contract at City, sure but ultimately chose to join Watford, about to take part in their third consecutive season in the Premier League. You really don’t think that’s a better job than a club that had just been relegated after a chaotic season, shorn of much of their squad as previously mentioned and also knowing there were tensions between fans and owners? Silva met with the Allams to discuss the future over dinner, he didn’t just drop us as soon as the R appeared next to our name.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/57677125 Fulham have appointed former Everton and Watford boss Marco Silva as their new head coach. The 43-year-old Portuguese has signed a three-year contract and succeeds Scott Parker, who left on Monday to take over at Bournemouth. Former Fulham star Luis Boa Morte has returned to the club as assistant boss. Silva first came to England to manage Hull City in January 2017 and has also had spells in charge at Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos. "I'm really pleased and proud to be appointed head coach of such a historic football club," said Silva, who began his managerial career at Estoril. "I'm excited to get started and my message for our fans ahead of this big challenge is we will all be working very hard together to be successful so they can feel proud at the end of the season."
Absolutely agree, daily fail says he is held in high regard by city fans! Not sure who or why they would, he is a user looking for the next big payday. His compensation from Everton has probably just runout so he needed something else.
He met the Allams after the season had ended. He was probably making sure he was going to get his last pay cheque. I believe he knew he was on his way after the Sunderland defeat, probably before then. He and his staff did clear their desks before the last away game at Palace. He may have been a decent coach with some decent ideas at first but I saw him as a one trick pony and he was soon found out at Watford and Everton, neither of them offered him another contract like City did.
