He scored 4 goals in 104 games. He was second choice whether you want to admit that or not. Greaves and Jones are better centre halves which is why he couldn’t get his place back in the team. I really don’t care what he said in an article, or is quoted as saying, he’s gone, we’re no worse off for him not being here either!
When he was back fit? Injuries force different solutions to problems. It just so happens we found a better solution than Reece Burke. FACT
We'll sign somebody else, that lad from AFC Wimbledon will be coming in soon. Still think we need two centre halves in, but equally it's only fair to have a look at Festus Arthur and McLoughlin in pre season.
Both he and the club are trying to make something happen before the end of the window, but he isn't in huge demand unfortunately
And he knows as well as anyone you don't change a winning team, no matter how hard you work in training. He was pretty much first choice when fit. Didn't he have the captains armband at some point too? I cant see where he would think he was hard done to. Anyway don't care anymore, we have to move on. I didnt think for a minute we'd keep both him and Jones. Probably long term, Jones would be the better option, though my only concern is the lack of experience at the back. We are going to get a few drubbings and can't afford heads to drop etc. .
That is an awful headline - what an utter misrepresentation of what George is talking about. If I was him, I’d complain to them.
He was hardly stand out - solid defender who wasn't the best defensive header of the ball and sometimes gave the ball away at the back by either getting caught in possession, over-running the ball or misplacing a pass - having said that he was reliable enough for League 1, but lets not think we've lost a key player, because we haven't
Probably why he left to join a grown up organisation and not have to come up with click bait - which I accept to a degree he needs to do as The Athletic is purely online and need the traffic, but nothing like that Honeyman article. The HDM / Hull live / Baz Cooper are all muted by me as they are just ****e . Get better stuff on here tbh.
Plus in 3 seasons he missed over 30 league games. That’s a lot of time he was unavailable for. We need more robust players.
