I think until we know a little more detail it's hard to know what was known and what we haven't been told. There's very little detail from anywhere ATM and I'm struggling to find anyone who knows exactly what it all means within our club and others. ( Possibly due to everyone still being pissed and or asleep haha )
Scunthorpe have the same transfer embargo applied to them for monitored loans, they have come out and explained it was part of the Monitored loans rescue package from the EFL and the embargo was part of the terms and conditions of the rescue deal. So Hull City must have taken the rescue loan as well.
Presumably the embargo transfer clause was clear to all when the loan was taken out, not imposed since. Therefore our transfer plan will have included this condition..... Not ideal, but due to C-19 more players are available anyway.
Surprised we took the loan but I suppose if we weren't planning on buying players it makes sense, but I thought we were in a pretty healthy position with the Bowen sale.
I'm surprised that most clubs in the EFL are not affected.... HCAFC is on a better financial footing than most... supposedly..
I think you'll find we're in the bottom half of the middle table section of clubs who took out loans.
So that sounds like it isn't anything to do with paying it back or not? If you accepted a loan you did so knowing that you would automatically get a transfer embargo? Doesn't it?
I'm completely confused by this embargo now. According to the rules, we can't sign anyone for more than a single season and we can't sign anyone on a full season loan, only a loan until January. None of the five players we've signed meet these rules.
I'm guessing it all depends on when it came into force, the full t&c's etc. On the face though, I agree... It's a tad confusing. Hopefully a more fan friendly chairman of a team also under this comes out and explains it
