Pretty sure if the allams didn't take the loan but sold KLP or someome else instead, they would of been slated for that. Personally I'd rather take the loan and keep the players all day long. Not sure why people think it's a bad thing. Interest free, hasn't stopped us having a pretty decent transfer window so far and we haven't lost anyone we didn't want to... It's a win win for me
Keep in mind we've been constantly told that City has no external debt; only the debt to Allamhouse. This means the money-grubbing ****s took out an interest-free loan in the club's name to pay off part of the debt the club owes to them. Am I right in thinking we were the only League 1 club to take this 'crisis' loan? If so, we're not "one of the best-run clubs in the country"; we were arguably the worst-run club in League 1.
Where's all the money gone ehab? Why does the best run club in the country need a crisis loan? How much interest have you're family taken over the life of your dads "gift"? Are you a liar or just thick? All questions that still haven't been answered and probably never will be.
We're one of three under embargo, Fleetwood and Gillingham also took out the loans and didn't repay them, other clubs probably also took out the loans, but as long as they've repaid them, we won't know about it. The terms of the loans will not have allowed them to pay any of it to themselves.
I can hear the allams now, we wanted to invest some nominal funds into player transfers but the efl embargo precluded this! Absolutely taking the loan works for them in more ways than one
That said, it will be interesting to see what the EFL think about a club taking an interest free hardship loan designed to keep clubs in business during a pandemic, then pay themselves a couple of million in interest.
Need to keep separate the club, the Allams and Allamhouse. The old man is / was an accountant no idea what Ehabs specialist subject is, they have shown in the past that they are good at reading small print and interpreting things their own way and still keep within the letter of the rules. They may be ****s but they're not daft.
It now fits with what he said in that interview a few weeks back. Something like "we won't be paying any transfer fees". He didn't say why of course. City Man you just don't get it do you. Or are you really an Allam apologist? Yes, we went up as Champions ..... of Division 3. That was great. Well done McCann, some redemption after the **** show the previous season, and the lads. But let's not confuse a good season on the pitch with what ****s (in terms of our football club) the owners are. I don't mind them cutting their cloth accordingly, very sensible, but they continue to be: Compulsive liars. Arrogant obnoxious twats who don't give a **** about us. Refusing to let go of the club unless they get an utterly ridiculous amount back on their gift (ergo we aren't really for sale), meanwhile they've milked it with their interest payments. The list goes on and on.
The Cynic in me leads me to believe this situation suits the owners down to the ground. They have an excuse to blame the EFL for imposing these restrictions, which in truth is music to their ears.
No may about it. And they are daft. Some of their actions over the years have shown how daft they are, although much of that has to do with their arrogance, vindictiveness, stubborness, etc. Decimating your fan base is not very clever. But yes, they appear to be smart in some other regards as you allude to.
I've no doubt they'd claim that the debt to Allamhouse is no different to a debt to an external lender and the EFL would have no issue with them servicing existing debt to a lender, but it's not the same and I doubt the EFL will be overly impressed. Not that the Allams will give a ****.
Surely they’re separate things Every club will have taken this loan Some have obviously paid it back The allams are savvy about money I don’t see any problem with this at All Who wouldn’t take an interest free loan And the conditions aren’t too bad anyway as most clubs aren’t splashing the cash anyway But I can sense the high horse brigade seeing an excuse not to buy a membership
What's an 'Allam apologist'? Is it just another way of describing someone with a different opinion to yours?
