For £15m there might well be. But it is worth noting that this figures is approximately 50% higher than the €12m (£10.25m) in the rumour above So there might not actually be an older and more experienced CM who is valued at that amount that we think it worth that valuation
Apparently no Adam Armstrong today playing for Blackburn in there pre season friendly. He isn't on the subs bench either. Could be nothing, but...
We’ve been linked before. He’s such a weird case. No record of note until this season and if you look at his goals, he scores everything. Overheads, volleys, poacher goals, pens... I’m hoping that he sold his soul like Robert Johnson.
Looks like a younger Vestergaard. Calm, defensively solid, really good on the ball, but with absolutely no pace. Not a bad replacement that we should be able to sell at a profit in a few years.
He’s just weird numerically. There’s not a lot of good data or analysis on him but he’s at almost a goal every game on average which is huge. Moreso for a struggling team. He only has about 3 shots a game and usually gets a goal out of it. Seems to be drawing fouls well too. I don’t think we’ll take the risk, but I hope someone does because I’m super curious.
So we have been linked with Delaney , Hayden and apparently Grimes. But Ralph has said that CM is not a priority position Something isn’t adding up Unfortunately it is more likely that the Delaney links were not true because he wouldn’t pick up over the many other teams who would want him for €10m. Especially post euros Which a shame. I know I’d be unhappy if he was an option, we stalled because it wasn’t “a priority” and then paid 10m for Hayden. If Newcastle want rid and they are dreadful it isn’t really a good sign So perhaps I am just trying to convince myself Delaney was never an option for us
I’ve been taking the piss out of my Everton mate saying Rafa will sign Hayden for £40m as his first signing, so of course the ****ing universe will make it that we sign him.
Good Player. Delaney is a very good Player. Hayden is good though. Hopefully we get one of them. Not heard of Grimes.
I just don’t like the sound of paying more for Hayden than an experience international who has played in the champions league If any of that is indeed true
I don't think a CM is a priority as such. But defence and winger is. Ralph's philosophy though is to have players who are flexible and can play in a number of different positions (perhaps to avoid the need to have two quality players in every single position). So I'm guessing a CM who can also contribute in either or both of those two area will be a valuable acquisition. It should eventually put paid to the complaints about playing people out of position. Would also be a way of keeping the squad small so we can play better wages to those that are here - and not block the pathway for those pushing from the B team level.
