I actually disagree on paying the loan back. The embargo is in place as a part of the acceptance of the contract and it is not possible to pay it back to lift it. It is in place and will stay in place even if we paid it off. Clubs had to put a sustainability plan to the EFL they cannot just magic money in against their own plan.
The EFL terms I posted say that the grant doesn’t have to be repaid if no fees are paid, but if we do decide to spend, the grant has to be repaid. That effectively makes Slater’s fee well into seven figures, so I doubt there’s much chance of it happening, even if the Blunts decide to let him go.
Well fee and personal terms where agreed until their new manager stopped it and both us and the player are still keen to see it happen. It's all down to their manager now
Self sustaining? The 2020 accounts included a statement about relying on the parent company to continue as a going concern. Without checking, I believe a similar statement has appeared on every set of accounts. So, no, we are not really self sustaining.
Relying on the parent company does not mean just in money being pumped in, it can mean that the parent company provides guarantees, fiscal creditability or other resources. I am involved in the sale of a self sustaining business. It operates and generates profits without any input from its parent company. Until last week the owners had not been on site for two years. What the business could not do however was to take out loans for new machinery, so whilst it is self sufficient it relies on the support of its parent company.
In other words, any money coming in only just pays the bills? Wages, premises costs etc. If the truck goes bang, the goods/services cannot be delivered, the cash stops coming in. where does the new truck come from? Unless the parent company bails them out. Not going to prolong this, but I can see our definition of self sufficient differs. Leave it that.
A few years ago I was talking to a manager of Biffa (the waste company not someone from the north east) they were clearing a festival site, he said he was salaried and on 40,000 a year he also said it was quite likely the hourly paid workers would be on more. It was a Sunday.
Ipswich have completed the signing of Joe Pigott on a free from AFC Wimbledon, he score a decent number of goals for them last season. Maybe not good enough for the EFL Championship?
Right. This is by far the most important thread now I have no desire to read or watch anything about England until we get nearer another competition for then. Not critical of them, I’ve really enjoyed the Euros and the England team, and the stance they’ve taken on things But it’s over Back to the important business of Hull City
He said there were Championship clubs after him but he chose Ipswich. I can't understand why he'd do that unless Ipswich are paying fortunes. Not sure I ever believe it either. Clearly Champ clubs have doubts over him too. Ipswich have been very busy but still don't think they have a side that would've given us or P'boro a run last season.

Young right-back Tom Nixon has joined Hull City's Academy on a one-year deal. The 18-year-old will link up with the Tigers’ Under-23s as he continues his development under the tutelage of Academy Manager Richard Naylor and Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Andy Dawson. Trentham-born Nixon recently finished a two-year scholarship with hometown club Stoke City, where he captained their Under-18s.
