You can't answer the question which speaks volumes. You are just moaning for the sake of moaning, mate. We've brought in two that were available to us. Give the new owners until the transfer window shuts before you start being negative about them. It's the least that they deserve but I worry they are going to quickly see how impatient a minority of our fanbase is. They might have surprised you come September.
I haven't got my head in the sand at all, because I have more patience than others. I think it's good that the club is taking it's time and not panic buying for the sake of getting bodies through the door. We will sign players, but they will be players that are right for our club, on a reasonable contract and purchased at the right price.
If we don't sign anybody else and we are left short all over the place, I'll be one of the loudest ones on here voicing my displeasure. It would feel like we've been deceived. I've got rock solid confidence that won't happen
FFS we’ve been crying out for some of the young uns to be given a chance - maybe now is their chance!! Bart
i am still holding onto the belief that the new regime will get it right, after all, that is why they were chosen by the owners. that said, a few squad fillers would have been nice to settle the nerves a wee bit, been plenty of freebies available or even just some regular updates from the club, even the forums are devoid of rumours which must be a first...although i do take into account that had the club signed some squad fillers that many would still be having a whine about the quality and the fact we paid little to nowt for them (forgetting this is how the lower leagues work in general). no doubt once the transfers start filtering through and the agents decide to drop the cash involved to a more realistic figure, then the window closes it will matter not one jot who the club has signed as they will not be good enough/young enough/skilled enough/any other pathetic reason, to a few.
Anyone got any good news? It’s unbearable having no rumours kicking about and being all but inactive in the window
That's my take, obviously they all know we've a Billionaire owner and trying to fleece us. We've been down that road b4.
No one can be 100% of that. The current only signing we've made to date doesn't fall in line with the speal speakman came out with earlier. Just try and make a competitive 11 with current squad You'll really struggle. We all hope they'll get a team together but times fast running out and when that happens prices go up not down so it'd be even harder to get value.
I want them given their chance but we need a squad to integrate them into. Even the class of 92 had older players to play with. We've got an 11 if you had to pick it now that could have to contain grigg, o brien and flannagan!
And most of our competitors are nearly done. We've signed one gamble signing and nothing else. It's a huge job on and a risky position we find ourselves in. 3 weeks time we kick off. We're well off being ready right now.
Not bothered about having the squad perfected before the season starts. The transfer window closes at the end of August and the club deserve a chance to see what they've done by then. A gamble signing? Not sure what you mean by that. Isn't every signing a gamble? We've also made two signings btw. I'll ask the same question to you that the other poster couldn't answer. If we have been told our top targets are actually available for us but not until August. What would you do?
I reckon Flannagan would probably play but not the other 2. For example 4-2-3-1 Burge Gooch Younger Wright Flannagan Winchester O'Nien Diamond Pritchard McGeady Stewart Not saying I would want team, clearly I would prefer full backs in, but I cant see any necessity for Grigg at all, nor O'Brien.
We've made 1 signing. The keeper isn't a first team signing. How many games before the deadline. How many points would you be prepared to drop and how long before those players then gel. Could be November before they click and poor lj could be gone by then if we don't start well enough. Every signing can be viewed as a gamble but a player who is hated by a sides support that paid 11 million 3 years ago is a big risk. If it comes off were laughing if not could be another grigg/ Rodwell type.
They'll all stay on for and fit then. Great stuff. That's not good enough and I hope the recruitment team know it too. Certain lj is in their ears screaming for better.
One last point. We shouldn't be arguing amongst each other. We should all agree that the squad look very poor and a huge out of work is needed. We can't effect what'll happen but can't be happy with 2nd or 3rd best. Sometimes football can be as polarised as politics and aw don't want that.
Grigg and Rodwell cost big money and were on big wages. How is Pritchard comparable? I'll ask the same question to you that the other poster couldn't answer. If we have been told our top targets are actually available for us but not until August. What would you do?
