Fair point re Pickford and I get the comparison with Embleton, for me though, don’t see Embleton necessarily starting for us as I’m not convinced Johnson genuinely rates him.
Fraser would have been a good signing imho but it’s too late now.
I see Evans has now signed and it seems like there may be some more imminent arrivals with Doyle, possibly Lichaj, Dale and the striker (assuming it’s not Dale).
It will be interesting to see how we line up on Saturday.

Good to see the club have an option to extend Evans contract if they wish. Small bit of professionalism in how we do things.

Only seen Dyce play the once, but he looked promising, and could see him getting the odd game or two if he is lucky. certainly looks like he could be one for the future.

I wonder if Wigan asked a Sunderland fan for opinions on Wyke. They would be in danger of thinking they have just signed me if they asked the wrong fan <laugh><laugh>

Maybe they are the ones ex players and managers refer to as 'toxic'. Certainly couldn't argue with that.

Well IMO if LJ doesn’t have a team that’s there or there about s after ten to fifteen games he will be a dead man walking. We are not renowned for patience after the last 10 years of s hit.

  13. 10 matches in will be against Cheltenham at home. We will need to be thereabouts.....a couple of points either way... at the top of this league following that match.

My fear is we could be 5 points clear and Johnson will still be getting grief.

'toxic' implies nastiness for flimsy reasons. I think we could easily justify being more 'toxic' tbh, given what we've seen over the last ten years. Frustrated, yes, impatient, absolutely, but toxic? Not for me.

I think much of the criticism that both Lee Johnson and Louis-Dreyfuss have been getting across the various platforms is for very flimsy reasons.

that will be down to performance only , my view is the home crowd will stay off his back if they can see a team trying, and giving it there all. As this is LJ team they will need time to gell, lets hope its quick and a few PL players can join us on loan

I hope not he won’t have deserved it, it’s not his fault players haven’t been brought in, but he’s the manager so he gets the short straw.
