Unlucky Cav' today.... his team was spent a long time before the straight to the line... he had to grab a wheel which was Van Aert and just as he was about to challenge he got blocked by someone going backwards... split second decisions... still its been a pleasure to watch him...
Yes, pity he couldn't get that win and pass Merckx record, as you say he just got blocked at the vital moment. However, 4 stage wins and the Green Jersey, when, a month before the tour, he wasn't contemplating being in it, must be an achievement beyond his wildest dreams.
