My point was, irrespective of loans/grants etc, the limit is 25 (with complications) according to standing EFL regulations
Agreed! I don't see why we couldn't spend small transfer fees. We could bring in someone like Marriott, on a 3 year deal on £10k a week. That's a £1.5m commitment over the 3 years. If we paid £200k for Slater, and put him on £4k a week on the same length deal, it would cost us £800k over the 3 years inc the transfer fee. As long as the club remains sustainable, I can't see it breaching the rules.
Very good point, it should be based on the value of the deal, not the fact a transfer fee has been paid.
Former England striker Andy Carroll is looking for a new club after leaving Newcastle, boss Steve Bruce says. Bruce added that Carroll, 32, needs to "go and play somewhere" after his contract expired at the end of June, but said his exit was "amicable". Carroll was in his second spell with Newcastle, rejoining from West Ham in 2019 - eight years after leaving for Liverpool for around £35m. He struggled with injuries and form, making eight league starts for Bruce.
Hull City has an embargo set at 25 players partly because as it accepted the terms and amount whilst it was still a L1 club.
At this stage then what would you class as us doing well, considering we have over a month left till the window closes and the current climate we are in. If you managed to take your blinkers off and actually look at what we have done and who we have signed then if you was being honest with yourself you would see we are doing well and have a better squad... Plus a month and a bit to go
No blinkers on. We made a good start. Since then it's stalled, as in ground to a halt. Yes, time yet, although the season does start in, what is it, 2 and bit weeks, and a big chunk of preseason preps are behind us. Playing catch up. Our squad is not better at this moment. That's simply daft to say. 11 out (excluding numerous youngsters), 5 in, mainly like for likes. I question who really has blinkers on!! But yes, there's time yet.
So I'll ask again see ln as you ignored it.... What would you class as us doing well at this stage considering we have over a month left of the window and the current climate. Yes we are stronger as a squad, you've just said many are like for like... But those players that have come in are an improvement on what they replaced so in that respect we are stronger. Most busines will be done towards the end of the window as the loan market will ramp up once the prem teams decide who they are keeping and who they are letting out on loan etc and chain reactions happen once the club's higher up sign players, which I. Turn let's other player leave etc.... That's not having blinkers on, it's just fact. We all know you are blinded by hate towards the owners, guess what... None of us are fans of theirs, but that doesn't mean things cant be looked at properly and rationally. We acted as club very early in this window with some great recruitment and now we are in a position where we don't have to rush, over pay or get players in who we don't really want just to make up numbers, we can relax a little and wait for the things I've outlined above to happen and further improve the squad. Which we will when the right players become available.

Gone for a Walk and Howden Tiger are saying exactly the same thing - we’ve had a good start to the transfer window but with another month to go, there are more additions needed. Sweep away the narkiness and you will both see this. The regular need to refer things back to the Allams in various ways (I see Shark Sports is the latest to join in) is just so pointless - they are our owners, they exist, of course they are involved, denial of their involvement or insisting everything is awful because of their involvement are two equally daft positions to take.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....transfer-ins-and-outs-summer-2021_450154.html There isn’t a single club on that list who have got all their business done yet Most have released a lot more than they’ve signed!! Some haven’t got any incomings as yet. Carry on
One of us is saying we are doing well, improved the squad and explaining reasons why we haven't seen player after player come in. the other is doing their usual in bashing everything and finding the negative in absolutely everything we do. I've asked them what they would class as doing well seen as they think we aren't and they haven't/can't answer... We could sign some absolute world beaters for £10/£15m+ and they would complain that the debt was being increased and that the allams would now never leave, earning more interest from us etc etc etc.... Let's face it, they hate the Allams and no matter what happens that hatred is hampering their ability to look at things rationally and actually see things for what they are
He answered you. He said sign some more players - exactly what you’ve been saying. You can’t help yourself. At the risk sounding like DMD (urgh!!), you are guilty of doing what you accuse others of. I’ll leave it there. If you can’t see it I’m not sure what else can be said.

That was his response, in no way is that answering the question " what would you class as us doing well considering we have over a month left and the current climate"
Whats the current heatwave got to do with anything? I'm not answering as its a daft subjective question. Let's focus on facts. Also, I dont blame the Allams for everything. Yes, I despise them as owners of 'our club, but I give recognition where it's occasionally due and I have no issue with them sensibly cutting cloth accordingly. Thanks Al.
