    13:00 Falcon Brook @ 9s

This one needs a bit of trust that its a better horse on the all weather, but on all its form it has shown that. The trip and conditions today should suit, drawn well to be a prominent racer and a replication of form from January on this surface would be more than good enough to be in with a winning chance.

    15:20 Storm Melody @ 13/2

I have this at the top of the list in terms of form on the surface in the recent past. I am surprised by the price and I thought it would be closer to the head of the market. Perhaps its the wider draw that is causing it to be such a price. I expect to see this horse picking up well at the finish, and I hope he gets a clear run!

Two Each Way singles at Wolves to start the day.

Hello, everyone. Cor blimey, what a scorcher!

Just a note to say that Lieutenant Henderson isn't renowned for having 3YO hurdle runners in July but he's got one such animal entered on Sunday at Uttoxeter. Crane for old girl, Lady Bamford - nice naming there, incidentally. Very well bred as well as the dam is a half-sister to Oaks winner, Sariska. What price the Triumph Hurdle after Sunday?!? Now if I'm thinking that then the heat really must be getting to me...

    Good luck all.

How would the difference in weather affect the horse? Do some cope better or would that not be a factor in your 1st selection thought process?

Really interesting questions. I think if I was at the races I would be looking at horses who aren't sweating up and are taking the preliminaries in their stride. I think this is especially important when its hot, because the process to get to the race is so important in aiding the horses chances.

Now, working from away from courses I would find it tough to look at what horses might be best suited by the weather conditions. I guess what you could do is cross reference temperature data against horses runs and see if they perform better in heat/cold. I don't think doing this purely by month of the year would be ideal though, because I don't think you can suggest that a horse running in the winter needs cold weather and those in the summer need it hot. Also reacting to 30 degrees heat is very different than 20 degrees.

No, really. If it’s a Saturday withdrawal it usually goes in on Monday morning, during the week it’s afternoon lunch time the next day like Gaz said mate :emoticon-0148-yes::emoticon-0167-beer:
