Don't think the old bill get involved and arrest unless their evidence to back up the claim. Personally think if it's been reported they need to act immediately.
We wont name him But hes 31, plays semi regularly, is a cracking player for his country. He comes from an Island nation, Nordic but technically not Europe. Can be seen purchasing rollmops for lunch. But for legal reasons its all very hush hush
If its untrue theyll release a statement as a club stating investigations took place after internet rumours and hes completely innocent. Most sane people will drop it
But that's the problem when it comes to certain sections of society. They just full out attack despite confirmed innocence
In which case no details should have ever been given about him. If he's found innocent then he's going to be labelled the rest of his life regardless of any statement by the club.
I want to know how whoever this was had details of his arrest leaked abroad before any club or authority made a statement. It was leaked ****ing hours before Everton said something.
Completely agree with both of your posts Tash - just the usual arse covering from the club ahead of the trial by social media **** storm In days before social media even naming would have been a few lines in the paper and then tomorrow's chip paper - now he'll be hung out to dry regardless of the actual verdict
Turn your cameras off, you perv. Almost feel weird and wrong saying this. It’s like saying the same about comments made by Pouchy. But I totally agree with Tash. Anonymity should be given to all parties in cases of this nature until a verdict is given in Court. Tash is right in that social media is playing with peoples lives. Also why are people being suspended before any Court hearing? Innocent until proven guilty. The Club are unlikely to have made any thorough investigation as they won’t have been able to question the complainant. Obviously if whoever it may be has made admissions that would be different and that for me is where Sunderland fell short of appropriate standards as Johnson did make “admissions” that showed he had committed at least some of the offences he was charged with.
It is standard practice in a lot of professions. I would be suspended from my job if I faced any serious allegations, but it would be suspension without prejudice. Edit: Also, suspension on full pay, which I suspect will also be the case with footballers
But I would expect a thorough investigation before any suspension. I can understand it for teachers with close proximity to children and for No Chance with close proximity to…well, anyone but footballers?
Tbf they don't just train and play football for the club. They work with the community and surely the youth teams
I don't know anything about this so won't comment on him in terms of guilt. Both him and Griffiths though, my sympathy wanes significantly that they go through this if innocent of criminality, simply because why the **** are they risking messaging with people? Kinda like Welshie said, they know the score, they are all trained in use of social media, and to not even ask ages is stupid. That appears to be the case on the little I read about Griffiths. If Sigurdsson is the same, then you've got to wonder where they were when the brains were given out. I know people say "married with kids" "has a girlfriend" but to be honest that's irrelevant. Adultery is not a crime.
I think people are saying WTF is he doing even talking to other women (regardless of age or whatever) as his missus is an absolute stunner and previous Miss World contestant. If that was my missus I'd be to ************************** to even know other women existed. please log in to view this image
