Our rivals aren't really getting it together though. Wigan are just signing our cast offs. If it was coming out that players don't want to come here, or we can't afford to bring in players or sufficient quality, that would be something to worry about. As it is, all we have are a few rumours about players we might interested in, all of whom seem to be of sufficient calibre to help get us promoted.
Same effect as everything else on a football.message board. At least we'll be being honest with ourselves and eachother. Club do look on the boards so hopefully they'd realise well nit blindly support failure as we've done in the past. I like most supporters just want us to be successful and see kld get it right.
Wigan signed 2 from us. Look at the rest of their signings. They're making a go of it as are ipswich imo. MK dons had a decent team and have added to it. Rotherham will be strong too. We need to get this right and arguably had most to do with a paper thin squad. We still need pace power and goals.
But not being worried isn't blindly accepting failure. It could be argued that saying that being in League 1 is unacceptable is an unreasonable stance from supporters of a club that has been run this badly for years.
The trouble is you can worry yersel through L1 and the Championship then worry about staying in the PL ... ... I'll take the most enjoyment as I can out of this season and be upset if we don't go up.
No it couldn't. Even a badly run safc should be no where near this league. This period is a stain on our history. We need to be out of this league yesterday and it's not unreasonable to think so for any safc supporter or staff member.
I’m not a person that worries about players needing to gel, for me if we pick the right players and are going for the higher class ones which take time (Not the ones Wigan, Ipswich etc have signed, been there and got the t-shirt) then good players will gel in a lot shorter period than ordinary players. We still have plenty of time to do it.
State of some of our fanbase... 'sign someone', 'new faces', aye lads, just sign any ****er shall we? Without a plan? Just get bodies in? The same bellends will whinge at the first chance they get. Screaming fannies.....
Of course it could. The size and history of the club means that it could be sustained in the Premier League but it hasn't been there for 5 years and has fallen a long way and requires a lot of rebuilding. The point was, however, to provide an equally extreme counterbalance to your notion that not being worried was blindly accepting failure.
Everyone wants us to go up, thats obvious. I can't say my own personal enjoyment levels have been adversely effected by being in League 1 though.
I believe I've spotted three posters on here who are trying to pass themselves off as Sunderland supporters...
Club are leaving it late if they want a Friday announcement this week. Usually we get linked to a player earlier in the week and it gets announced on Friday. Wonder what happened to MadBob's medical the other night. EDIT - literally as I posted this he's provided an "update" that the player did his medical then went back home and something is massively up with the club.
We know reality and done need to be reminded of it. Your earlier posts suggested we shouldn't expect to be out of l1 that'd just wrong in my opinion. Let's just hope the recruitment team get their act together and we get promotion.
