One or two trademark passes. His lack of pace and sharpness was obvious. Against average L2 players is one thing, but against high pressing,, quick championship midfielders is quite another.
I was more impressed with his attitude, constantly talking and guiding team mates....

I suspect a player coach role might be most we can expect, to provide cover or to play Cup games.

Good to see him with a City shirt on though....

    I knew you might.
    First thing I thought of
An old bloke I used to work with in the 80’s was nicknamed cannonball cos of that series !!
    Before my time like
    Used to get round him
Why they call you cannonball Ron?
Two hours later he’s told us his stories about been a long distance lorry driver
    Memories <laugh>

I can remember watching that. It arrived here a few years after it was shown in the USA, when I was 10 or 11. Cannonball, Highway Patrol and 77 Sunset Strip were staples of early evening TV. Life in the USA seemed very glamorous back then.

Early 60s watching those programmes everyonevseemed to have a car, even very young people and the supposedly poor. Here the glamourpuss was the one with bicycle clips.

Of course mention of summer camps immediately brings this to mind. The desperation in his voice when he sings " I've been here one whole day..."

Around the same time the Two Perry's were aired - "Perry Mason" and "The Perry Como Show". The latter was standard Saturday night fare at my granddad's place after he took me to watch City @ B.P.

    Ouch!

Admiral started doing our kits 82/83. The writing was red for that season and the next 3. Writing changed to black for 86/87 season.

Can't remember seeing one of those tops either.

It has red on it, so it has to be from the Don Robinson era
