I do think all adults should be required to have the vaccine.

It is concerning a number of health care workers have refused to take it .

Not compulsory but for various situations such as travel or events etc then the NHS app with proof of vaccination should/will be required. This will encourage most to get vaccinated.

I guess there will always be those who object based on their 'right to freedom of choice.' But, if that's the case, they may just have to accept the possible consequences - such as no entry to sports stadia, cinemas, restaurants and the like. Not to mention healthcare - possibly controversial, but I don't see why healthcare workers should be possibly exposed just because someone insists on 'their rights.'

I can remember a similar debate in Australia at the time of the AIDS crisis. Although there was no vaccine involved, the debate was prompted by a Nursery's refusal to allow a two-year old girl with a history of biting back in after it was revealed she had AIDS. For me, it was tough on the girl and her parents, but I agreed with the general concensus which was that she not be allowed back in because of the risk she posed to the staff and other children. I put the vaccination debate into the same category.

I see Sajid Javid is doing his best to undermine the argument for having the vaccine. In spite of having had both jabs, he has tested positive for Covid.

    Karma...

Well it certainly worked here when Macron said that you would have to have a health pass to go to a shopping centre, restaurant, sports event, etc. People have been flocking to get vaccinated since his announcement.
I tend to think that we are governed by laws that we might not always like, indeed sometimes seem daft, but they are there for the public good as a whole. I don't see why putting another person at risk of serious illness or worse can be acceptable, therefore compulsion might be the only answer.

Wasn’t he the one who replaced Hancock and basically said open the country up and let do what they like ?

Wonder if he thinks the same .

According to various reports, government is considering making it compulsory to have a "health pass" to attend a football match when the capacity of the ground exceeds 20,000. This puts Watford in a strange situation, because although the capacity is greater, judging by the number of empty seats, the actual numbers most weeks is less. This happens because season ticket holders don't always attend, but get counted as though they did.
I haven't seen anyone here really objecting to being vaccinated, but maybe there are Watford fans who have a different opinion and would be barred from attending. Should the club play around with capacity numbers, or stick with what we have and institute a pass scheme? I feel that the later is the only answer as some who are more vulnerable might already have doubts about being in a large crowd.

I would have no problems with a health pass Frenchie. It's actually surprising how many countries have more or less compulsory vaccination for some other diseases anyway. As long as they accept my WHO yellow vaccination book I have no problems - I absolutely refuse to get it in digital form because i don't possess a smart phone or any other similar gadget and refuse point blank to be forced into buying one.

I already have one in paper form, that because I am now a second class UK national is not as yet acceptable in England. I have a very cheap phone that I think it might be possible to download it onto, but Mme. has one that it would not be an option. It is totally beyond me why I have had the same double dose of vaccine as a person could have had in Watford, yet because it was put in my arm by a French nurse rather than one in England, who might have not been English anyway, it is somehow different.

I quite agree Mark. My favourite spot is in the upper tier of the GT stand, and there are plenty of us oldies up there.

There are a few of us in the Lower GT Stand as well

I am 74 and have been a regular attendee since the 1969 - 1970 season when I felt my leg had recovered enough from the motorbike accident to survive attending a football match standing up in the Rookery

I have been double jabbed and so has my wife and the people we normally meet up with have also been double jabbed, the problem I can see is that 20,000 fans queuing up to be checked for the vaccine, and for valid tickets and the usual safety security checks could mean that fans will have to attend hours in advance to be sure of not missing kickoff

When we attended the Cardiff game last. season it was only 2,000 fans but it was a disaster so I hope the club will have a better system in place, but as we have still not had any info yet from the club about the new system I am more worried about seeing the game than catching covid which has failed to get anywhere near me in 18 months

Of course now we have to use this new app to get tickets and enter the ground so it might be very chaotic and busy anyway .

I've just requested a refund from Notts CC for the Trent Bridge test as I don't want to wear a mask all day, and possibly sit next to someone who hasn't got a mask...
I would be delighted if WFC insisted on double jabs and masks too. Even better would be tests on the way in. Anything that stops the spread is good. I accept that not turning up would stop the spread , but perhaps we can slowly manage the situation and recover our activities.

No one seems to wear a mask at the cricket which probably hasn’t helped - as with the other sporting events .

People just think “ Na I’ll be ok even if I get COVID”

I tend to feel that those who decide not to get the jabs should get a Darwin award.

It is about time we vaccinated the super spreaders - children and teenagers.

I've returned my ticket for Trent bridge. I could probably cope with wearing a mask all day, but I couldn't cope with having to sit next to someone not wearing one.

Don't blame you. There's no way I could wear a mask all day - twice this week I had to cut short shopping trips because wearing one for too long makes me giddy & nauseous.

I find the paper ones ok but the cloth ones make me feel like I am breathing hot water and my whole face starts to itch, max endurance 2 hrs
