More chance of gelling earlier if they're in before their first game. No gaurentee your right but other teams are active and meanwhile we have no fullbacks and 1 suitable striker who may or at not get goals. I'm pleased with midfield as we've many youngsters but we've none to play up front of fullback. With Doyle Likely to play we need a quality experienced centre half too. Wright looks like he's off and flannagan is poor at best. 11 days until ko but no pressure ;)

IMO good players don't really need time to gel straight away they'll be able to play their normal games with the players around them. Yes it probably wouldn't be as water tight as I would prefer but it would good until they got used to each other's games

Attacking left back. Was very very highly rated as a kid and scouted by the likes of Barcelona as recently as 3 years ago. Played well on loan at Toronto last season.

    Could be brilliant.

Mind you I'd heard great things about Vokins as well :D

This is from a few years ago so he may have regressed. But in that time he's been training under Klopp, so you'd hope not.

Inexperienced but had a big reputation when Liverpool signed him. Had a stint in MLS end of last season and hard to know how well he did (5 starts, 5 from bench). He will be one the data has identified as fitting the profile. Fingers crossed he settles well fits in.

I wouldn't DARE post this on RTG. But a starting line up against Wigan of the below wouldn't be a complete disaster. And I still have faith we will get a "proper" right back in before then as well, and perhaps an extra forward option. Ideally an extra CB but I'm kinda resigned to Flanagan starting the season

    Burge / Patterson

    Winchester
    Flanagan
    Doyle
    Gallacher

    O'Nien
    Evans

    Gooch
    Embleton
    McGeady

    Stewart

  9. If we had to start with this,(unlikely),I would prefer to see O9 alongside Doyle,Neil in the middle with Evans,Diamond in for Gooch, coming in from the left and Mcgeady a 10 behind Stewart.

Gallagher should be a massive improvement on McFadzean.

And in reserve we have Pritchard, Diamond, Neil, Obrien, Wright, Arby, Benji

We will most likely sign a right back, centre half and striker as well. So all the doom merchants can do one. They are flaws in that squad but it takes time but I'm.more optimistic than many others

Start the season with Burge and we can forget about automatic promotion. No chance of success with that joker playing week in week out.

  15. Harsh! If he plays in front of a settled back line,he'll be a better keeper imo.

He’s proven he isn’t good enough. Why do we suddenly accept people not being good enough at their jobs? I guarantee if Burge was starting his second season as first choice under Donald and co no body would be happy.

I hope that's the case and the club/supporters aren't using that as excuse for poor form in september and October. Truth is its pretty much **** or get off the pot time for the recruitment team.

I think Johnson wants to play with only 1 holding player this season. Just a theory. He has said he signed O'Nien to play as an 8 so I think he will be higher up the pitch when we have the ball, next to a number 10 and behind and attacking 3. It will be a really aggressive and attacking 433 I think with full backs that support as well. If 1 full back goes the other has to move over to make a 3 otherwise we are wide open. Evans will have a massive role to play when we lose it in terms of delaying. I think it is why full backs are a tough position to fill as we want those who can get forward but with rapid pace to get back.

  19. He made some great stops last year....kept us in it several times. The big problem with him is that he doesn't come out and command the box,but I think that's because he didn't have confidence in the defensive line in front of him.
Don't know what Donald's got to do with it?
