I (a vaccinated I) returned to work this week after three weeks off work due to covid.

My work place can be viewed as a microcosm. Pre vaccination we experienced deaths and hospitalisation and this included the staff. In one area of the service (it is segregated into units) 60% of services users contracted covid, all were hospitalised, and 40% tragically died. In sections we had no cases. Post vaccination the service has experienced a further 30% of service users getting covid across the service, but no deaths and hospitalisation.

The death rate and hospitalisation rate the service is experiencing has clearly changed as it has in society due to vaccination.

If it comes into force that you can’t go to the games from October virtually means you need the first one this week.
PS I’m gutted as I miss the first game as I’m in insulation due to having a cortisone injection on the 4th August. Apparently it reduces your immune system even with the jab. So I’m going into isolation 7 days in front and 7 days post injection.

 

Nah, I will watch it on Robins TV mate, I'm not playing their silly games.......Apparently Spain & Greece are looking to go into Amber + (a new one ). Means even if you've had both jabs, you still have to isolate for 2 weeks on your return......and the control continues!!

If this is the "freedom" rally where a former nurse stands up and calls for all NHS doctors and nurses who are "complicit" in this "fraud" to be tried and hung as they were at Nuremburg after the war then I think I'll give it a miss 1for!!

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear in a few years time that senior Tory ministers have substantial investments in AZ, Pfizer and Moderna - plus some PPE manufacturers.
Probably got rid of their airline and hospitality investments just in time too no doubt.
Having said that, the hospitalisation and death rate seems to be down so the vaccines are doing some good.

I like to gather information from all avenues and then form my own conclusions.....not be led by the sheep, I mean masses!!!

The way I look at things, your Life choices would seem to make you more “controlled” than those of us who are double vaccinated! Despite some restrictions, we can now generally go to large events (Silverstone/Goodwood/large football matches) as well as travelling abroad, not only because our government demand travellers are jabbed but because more and more other countries now require it too.
I’m pretty sure that in the past you said (and please correct me if I’m wrong!) that the only reason you would get vaccinated was to enable you to go abroad. Do you now intend to stay in the UK for the rest of your life?

 

Do you believe that everyone (millions) that doesn't have the vaccine won't be able to travel or go to large events? Even if jabbed, from some Countries on return (amber + & Red), they will still be required to quarntine for the best part of 2 weeks.......They will soon be asking for you to have booster jabs and more for different varients......Oh and special flu jabs.....and so it goes on......

 

And the problem is?

Actually, yes, for the time being at least, I do believe that those unvaccinated will, effectively, have more restrictions put upon them! Until such time as the rest of the world has caught up with it’s vaccine programme there is likely to be some form of restriction.

Also, being double jabbed may mean that quarantine is not required upon return from abroad as long as individuals do daily lateral flow tests.

And yes, there will be different variants requiring booster jabs, exactly as the flu vaccine is adjusted every year to combat that. It may be that the two can be combined to allow just the one annual jab.

 

Money talks mate, Countries that rely on tourism & Venues alike will change their stance when needs must... It's currently the main topic of media hype..and Britains way to recover the economy, that's been crippled since the start... Being jabbed IMO will change very little as you can still obtain & carry the virus, so will have to be tested anyway..
The idea of the jab is to protect yourself & the NHS from hospital admissions..Some people think otherwise!!!

 

So what, in your opinion, is the idea of the jab if not to protect yourself and the NHS?

 

I'm saying that the Jab does not stop you from spreading it, so IMO, to stop people from events/venues etc..is totally wrong.....plus again IMO, it's not something that should be forced or frowned upon.....and now we have the mass, saying that children (the virus rarely affects) should also have the vaccine...again I think it's wrong.
I respect those wanting it and those that don't...Choice is key.

 

I appreciate that the jab does not stop the spread of the infection, but ongoing research seems to indicate/suggest that, in general, it significantly reduces the effect of the virus, which, in itself, is obviously a good thing.

I can actually understand your concern about personal choice and I now think it’s getting to a point where many people, particularly those vaccinated, are beginning to think the same way.

Your comment about the masses wanting children vaccinated is interesting; I personally don’t think there are masses of people suggesting that, but it does open another discussion. For years, school children have been vaccinated against flu, either by nasal spray or injection, dependent upon age, and that is not specifically to protect them, but to protect the older populace or those susceptible to serious illness from flu. If one applies the same principle to covid, there should be no need to vaccinate kids!! I am not medically trained (other than being a qualified first aider!) so don’t know whether the same principle could be applied but I think it’s worth talking about.

 

It severely reduces the chances of you spreading it though. Which is exactly why it's required for close-contact events.
