Agree with the rest, but I think Ashley isn't going to be handing out better contracts to anyone over 28 now - he is half way out the door and is cost cutting again, extensions to what they've got is as good as they'll be offered and not a penny more by Ashley. Also doubt the Saudi's would want our current crop of CB's tbh - some are ok some aren't, none will be good enough for what the Saudi's want so no sense in offering out a 2/3/4 year deal to these lads if they'd be moved on as soon as the new owners get in.

They gave Clark a new one in January 2021 for 2 years. I think if a player is willing to sign we will give them one. We like contracts and maintaining the status quo squad wise. Its cheaper. Until there is any certainty over the takeover, I think Ashley will keep his policies much the same. Minimal change, minimal expenditure.

2.5 apparently! WTAF. Maybe he speaks a bit of Arabic? Tbh I beleive he is the lowest paid CB we have so probably the only one who was likely to get anything more.

Honestly we've always loved contracts, age is no barrier. Our issue is with buying older players and resale value. Generally I believe Mike likes no change. No change, less transfers, less fees, less negotiating wages in a new landscape.

    He's a tight **** basically.

Fede has signed a new deal for 2 years with an option for a third. Can’t see Dummet wanting to leave.

I thought Fernandez only signed a 1 year extension? Ah well at least that's one we don't have to worry about.

I can't see Dummett wanting to stay unless he suddenly finds himself back in favour. He went backwards hard last year through a lack of game time, at 29 I'm not sure he will want to just be cover. He cut a frustrated figure at times, as much as he had injury issues again.

Where would Dummett go though? Could start in the Championship but not sure he'd be a starter for many Premiership sides

I just assume he'd want to play a bit before his career ends. To be honest if he is happy to sit and pick up a paycheck, do we want him? I thought he did a good solid job for a long time. Played well above his actual ability. But last year he looked awful.

I wonder if Lewis is gonna have a miraculous turnaround this year a la James Perch or Warren Barton? He was ****ing garbage last season. Give me Dummett over those level of performances any day. Lewis appeared to be mortal drunk half the time. PANIC!!!

    Dummet was Bruced.

Bruce is like a human black hole in that he sucks all the talent and enthusiasm out of players, fans… the lot.

<laugh> He's been injured virtually the entire time Bruce has been there.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I feel like he has a terrible injury record. He must have more pulled hammy's than any living footballer.
