Grigg?! Are my eyes playing me up or did Will Grigg spark into flames and put us 2-1 up?!

Very good work out against tough opposition, the team lost its shape a bit but the defence coped well and football won in the end.

I know exactly how to flash a qr code under a scanner. Not my fault it went red at 2 different turnstiles after standing in 2 different queues.

Can we all agree that if Winchester had to play RB against Wigan, it won’t be the end of the world?

Canny pre season all round. New players look the part. Young lads look ready (and dont forget every other club at this level burns loans to get young lads of this quality in). Yes we are a handful short in squad terms, but assuming we get them and they play this front foot football we will have performances to enjoy. Hawkes and Neil - well done lads.

Well, if we focus on what we’ve seen on the pitch and not folk having a meltdown as we haven’t signed 37 players, we look in good shape.

Yep. And now Grigg is scoring, there's no need to panic about getting a striker in!

Well done Will Grigg. Great performance overall, especially in the first 45, Hull struggled to handle the slick passing football we were playing. It’s becoming very obvious that Embleton is going to be absolutely key for us this season, him and Mcgeady will tear up defences.

Man of the match was a close one for me between Embo and Doyle, but I think Doyle edges it as he played the whole 90.

please get a left back sorted, i honestly never want to see gooch there again, leave him where he can be effective.

think we all knew the game was going to go flat once the changes came in, hull finally got a foothold and it was no shock it all came down our left side.

onien had a decent game just running around nicking the ball so good to see him get much needed minutes.

evans is 'that type' of midfielder, he keeps it simple and shows for the pass, always looks forward when possible and works well with embo.

if i take anything from pre-season it is that we appear to be trying to keep the ball down and playing forward and while the 'stand ins' did ok in the 1st half there really is no substitute for players in their right positions especially in defence, let's hope the club get these targets in asap.

was actually a good goal from grigg, might be just what he needs, hardly had a touch but have to say he covered a decent amount of ground in trying and was in the right place to grab that goal...just wish he looked as happy as the rest of the team did that he scored.

Doyle literally looks leagues above us doesn’t he?

Plays like a computer game, everything is slick. Decent.

Still only a friendly...all about fitness and team pattern. Don't buy the streams but general consensus is we seem to be playing good football. Let's hope for plenty of goat pics this season.

He had two good players up against him and hardly put a foot wrong ...

... could've sulked but the players all seem to respect what Johnson's doing.

Good ball in from Hawkes for the winning goal. The younguns are shaping up nicely and look good for a starting place next week. Evans and Doyle look excellent signings and Pritchard and McGeady to come back in too.

The reinforcements will help to achieve a healthy competition for places. I'm quietly confident that we can do it this year.

I think Doyle has been MotM in most of our pre-season games. He just seems to be in the right position all of the time and hardly ever plays a stray pass.
