Isn't that just speculation though? He doesn't say Max is Planning to take Lewis out, so I think it's just link bate speculation.
I am sure both drivers will be megga aggressive and not give an inch for the rest of the season.

Yeah.. speculation. Hope it doesn't come to that. But sheesh, if it did... That would be bonkers.

To be cynical, it's a very clever thing for Mercedes to leak...

Yes I mean if any driver has said that they are **** stirring , I don’t believe for 1 second Max has said he intends to take Lewis out .

Unless it’s after the Dutch GP for dinner , after Lewis wins :)

Absolutely. But the ability to overtake is critical. The Hungaroring isn’t quite Monaco, but it’s not far off.

The racial abuse Lewis has suffered I think was likely discussed. He must of received death threats galore (I sadly feel this is the case).
I would like to believe there was some discussion and RBR were told to cool it, that they have stirred too much emotion. It is a guess on my part but Lewis looks mean and unforgiving.

Mercedes and the lap time data have confirmed that Hamilton's outlap was no different to any other part of the session, in fact he was slightly quicker than his earlier Q3 outlap. Both Mercs were tiptoeing around the outlaps all session to maintain tyre life at the end of the quali lap. So no surprise they went out before the Red Bulls, which caused difficulties at the end of the lap.

Red Bull should have been monitoring the outlap times to notice it could be a problem, and passed the Mercedes earlier in the outlap if they wanted to.

First two corners someone suggested would be Max's objective.

Given that they're on the softs, and Max has been starting like a demon, the first couple of corners is certainly on right out of the gate.

I imagine Hamilton is going to have Max breathing down his neck for the first few laps assuming he doesn't make it on the first lap. Then who knows how it plays out.

Looking forwards, race might actually be interesting tomorrow?

    • Max on softs is pretty committed to a two stopper, but the Mercs have the option to 1 stop. Pirelli think a 2 stop is faster in clear air, a 1 stop only slightly slower but safer as it maintains track position.
    • Suggestion is the soft tyres are worth about 5 metres on the run to T1, plus a slipstream. A good getaway and Verstappen should get a chance into T1?
    • Regardless of track position, Verstappen has a dilemma. He needs to make the softs last otherwise he'll exit the pits into traffic. But he also needs to stay with/ahead of the Mercs. It could be really tricky if Ricciardo and Stroll (P11 and 12) make customary decent starts. They're likely to be on medium/hard tyres, so Max needs to make sure they're well outside of his pit window.

Need to check on the status myself. Need to plan a trip to Memphis soon and that's the direct route to where I need to be. Main route right over the bloody Mississippi.

My Bro travelled down the Mississippi couple of years back on a music trail, meeting all these unheard of musicians who are actually keeping the roots of the music from that region alive. My bro does a bit of open Mic too.

He did, he travelled with another amatuer musician. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He was, still is, a big Hendrix fan too, since the 60s. He made a pilgramage to Seattle on the 30th anniversary of his death. He set all the alarms off in the Paul Allen music museum when he reached over the barrier to touch Jimi's guitar. They didn't know it was him, till he wrote an article for a Sunday newspaper over here and mentioned it. He had the cheek to ask if he could come and play it (sending a copy of the article). No surprise that he wasn't invited. <doh>
