Cheers Smug I sense a change in people’s attitude as most people realise the circumstances and why we have to change our management style
I've noticed that those people who have a problem with the club are relentless in their criticism. They're not happy with the recruitment and full back situation ... ... yeah, heard you the first time.
Ah well, thought it was, but thought I'd ask on the off chance league one had some weird rule the others don't. Wouldn't be the first time.
Really finding myself withdrawing from all this tittle tattle. All it takes is one helmet to post something negative without any actual substance to it and everyone is all over it like a rash. Utterly tiresome.
Is deodrant over the road ITK? People reacting to him like he is. He’s saying we are making it look like we want the right players then pulling out when we get close?!! doesn’t even make sense?
People still just overlooking a great pre season when we deservedly beat a team a league up and destroyed a competitive team from the league below. There’s no team in this league with a 30 man, balanced first team squad. Not one. We have to forget we are Sunderland and remember we are League One. I’m serene for Saturday arms have faith we will have players in by the end of the window, which is 4.5 weeks away. Are folk suggesting we haven’t a team for Saturday? Cos we ****ing have. One of the strongest in the league even as it stands, with 30k plus behind us. We all want signings, let’s not start tearing down the new regime for trying to do things right. Teams signing players we didn’t ****ing want and folk screaming ‘look what they did!’. Have a word man.
Premier league kicks off 1 week later, and bar two of the promoted sides who have gone to town with transfers, there are 4 sides who've signed 4 players, the rest 3 or under. Johnson and Speakman are right, the market is different this year, we have to stay patient. Will get to a pinch point soon when agents start flapping thinking they aren't going to get their pay day!
Love this post. I’d argue that even if the squad is weaker than last season, the team is better. Tactics etc
He regularly posted the team the day before the match so he’s definitely ITK. He also said the players disliked Johnson. I would suggest that he’s clearly ITK at the playing level but if that were it then there’s no reason he’d be privy to what’s going on in recruitment and boardroom level. Most players won’t even know.
If (and it’s a big if) this is true and we lose out to either of those clubs…that’s when I’ll start to worry. As it stands I think we have a squad that can challenge if they all stay fit, however that’s unlikely and will only take 1 or 2 injuries for it to all fall to pieces.
I don’t think it’s a case of trust them don’t trust them, there are things they’re doing right and there will be mistakes being made. I like that they have a plan and strategy and that’s a blessing for us - a massive positive - but it’s daft not to identify and be critical of errors. They’ll be doing the same about themselves.
I said around not inside, so no none of the those things are accessible to me. Most of what the average fan can see is just bleak exterior. Being on forums like this and the Internet in general make it easier to see a bigger picture of the club, but many aren't and all they see is an almost forgotten stadium I don't know, just seems obvious to me to at least let someone loose with a pressure washer
Remember there is another transfer window, where we can strengthen where required. If we don't blow our budget this transfer window, the next could make all the difference to a final promotion push.
As I keep saying, until the season starts and the window closes there may be no errors ... ... if we bring in players, and start well, what was all that criticism for? The club are well aware of what's needed.
Wonder why that’s suddenly a problem for fans. When the players disliked di Canio, it was the players’ fault. Now they (apparently) dislike Johnson, it seems to be Johnson’s fault! (In the circles I’ve been reading anyhow)
Does that include the players who've just signed, the lad in from Man City plus O'Nien and McGeady Sanderson seemed to love being here and, if we'd gone up, would be back imo. Match coming up and we're skint, players don't want to be here, the recruitment team are useless ... ... ffs, it's like the Village of the Damned on these forums at times.
