I do get what you mean now and checked it out….it 1/5th of the odds for a top 4 finish….so if we finish 4th you will have £25 at 4.4/1 which means you will get back £135. I make that right agreed ? If we win you get £710 I think (rushing to go out so could be slightly out
Surely we have two CF and times we won't play both together. I would not put money on either of them being too scorers. Would put money on them scoring 30 between them though
Quiet a lot of positive thoughts here. As we all know this league is a proper roller coaster, so if we are not in the top six after 6 games please remain patient.
Patience? I don’t want no stinkin’ patience! I want promotion confirmed after 3 games. After all we’ve been through that’s a reasonable ask. nah, you’re right, it’s great to have a good feeling about the team but this league with its ludicrous number of games, the lottery of injuries, suspensions etc can bite you on the arse easily. What I will say though is that we have quality in every part of the pitch. Some players are better than others but there are only a couple in this squad that you don’t want to see starting on a regular basis.
Sb, Don’t forget to use the word, gel. I think that with the new makeup of our team, if we can get them to gel, we’ll ship it in. Keep in mind, Harry employed ‘gel’ by the bucketload.
I don't really want to give a particular position I think we'll finish in. However, I do believe we'll have some hiccups along the way, as I don't think we're fully there yet with having a totally top of the championship management (not just Warbs but all the way up), infrastructure or depth in squad. We will likely have some injuries along the way and a dip in form here or there. We'll also have a couple of mad moments in defence. But the upside is that we have a cracking first 11 and some backup players who are not at all bad. We play with style and catch a lot of teams out. And we also have the mid-season transfer window to do business in, if needed. I believe it's going to be a great season, whatever happens. But I'm not sure we'll get promoted via automatic or playoff this year. That would be a bonus. Looking even further ahead, amongst all the teams that could potentially get promoted this year, I'd say we are one of the least able to cope with life in the premier league, in terms of budget, management, ownership, infastructure, etc. Of course, there are cash benefits of being promoted and coming straight back down, if used sensibly. But staying up in the premier league would possibly be a bigger challenge than any of the other recent stints in the top league.
Reckon we'll finish above the relegation zone - it's too scary to dream too big, way out of my comfort zone with all this optimism flying about
Just got 22/1 to be champions at Ladbrookes. £20 bet should return £460 so fingers crossed for 9 + months!
I got 25/1 with the Swedish Svenskaspel, but now you can only get 18/1 (the last time I looked). I fancy top two!
Warbs often plays 3-5-2, which would mean they could both start. I wouldn't mind that, but it would possibly cost Chair his place.
Agreed. Very big season for Chair. He looked very good at times against Leicester, so high expectations for him this season. But I’m sure MW will manage his time, so I’m sure there’ll be games he won’t be used - but positively he’ll be fresh (last season he definitely tired in games and we didn’t see the best of him) and show us stamina and strength through the season.
Chair has immense talent, although he's no where near the level of Tarrabt or Eze imo and he often flatters to deceive. Other times of course he makes a big difference. I wouldn'd mind him being used from the bench against tiring defenders.
I am absolutely sure we will be playing different formations and teams against different teams. Against Millwall we will play a big DCM in front of the defence. Other weaker and smaller teams we will play 2 upfront. What I am hoping and actually believe is that Warburton and Eustace have studied this league...and will be much more on top of his tactics. I am hoping we don't get caught out by teams such as Barnsley next season... Those matches are going to be the difference between last season and this
Interesting reading through this. I reckon a solid top 8 finish and maybe even a playoff place would be great. Fear promotion this year will be a year too early...but if it looks like it'll happen, I'll happily forget that logical approach asap.
Promotion will never be a year too early No doubt cash will be splashed on mercenaries if we do go up and **** the team that gets us there We have history
