He's very highly thought of by city and they do want him long term, but your right, his confidence is shot to bits. Hence why a loan back home is being sought

 

Aston Villa have signed England striker Danny Ings from Southampton on a three-year contract in a £25m deal.

Ings, 29, is Villa's fourth signing of the summer after Leon Bailey, Emiliano Buendia and Ashley Young.

The money for Grealish has almost all been spent.

 

I more bothered about people's feelings around the pedestrianisation of Norwich City centre.

 

I am more bothered about how a city's football club is run and supported by its inhabitants. I know which comes out on top.

 

People can say that we shouldn't rush to pay back this grant/loan whatever, since it's 'free money' and interest-free, but it's hampering our transfer business in ways that makes it more hassle than not paying it back. It's not a shrewd bit of business by the Allams. It's another self-inflicted gunshot wound to the foot.

You say all this like the Allams have no control over what happens to the club.

They could have done all the above but instead they picked unpopular business moves that annoyed their customer base.

Right at the start, the Allams said they would run the club as a business. All credit to them, they have. But they forgot good business strategies keep customers onside.

If the club forgets why football is different to other industries, don’t act surprised when the fans feel like they can get better experiences elsewhere.

 

I didn't. I said you could bring in someone like Norwich did to run things when things were a bit ropey. They are in a great position all done with owners worth a fraction of what our owners are. It helps when the fans stick with you like their have for the last 15 years, selling out season tickets every year whatever division they are in despite season tickets being considerably dearer than ours. To achieve that you have to get the fans on board. Our owners wouldn't even consider for a moment someone could do things better than them so we will never have a chance to see what could be achieved doing the same.

 

In one of Ehabs recent propaganda interviews he said he was going to bring in someone to run the club.

As for Norwich and Sunderland and Boro etc , there’s eff all else to do on a Saturday , it’s our alternative sports that are a problem , I’d scrap them !!!

 

There's no dispute from me that the Allams could have done things far better and no denying that ,on some occasions ,I've cursed their stupidity.That said,in the 52 years I've supported Hull City,there have been others who have **** on us.Let's not forget the primary reason they(The Allams) became involved in the Club...The huge black hole left in our accounts by the previous incumbents.

if you look back at our history it's clearly evident that people have drifted towards 'better experiences elsewhere'(mostly Elland Rd,Old Trafford and Anfield)and a lot of that drifting has occurred when we haven't been playing well.I remember being a young lad standing on the platform at Driffield Railway Station with 3 or 4 kids on match days and I also remember when we created Club history and achieved our dream of playing in the top flight,that 3 or 4 became 50 or 60!!! It's now back down to single figures,the Allams are unpopular and we are all arguing on a daily basis about the rights and wrongs of going to games.

As Urika said yesterday and it's worthwhile thinking about it...'It's our Club,not theirs'...I'll keep going when possible,if individuals don't want to it's their choice entirely and hopefully one day we'll all be back.

Ah, the sad old eff all to do excuse. Tell me what else is there to do in Hull when rugby isn't on compared to those places that keeps people away from City? Presumably everywhere with big crowds have eff all to do there, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester...

In this recent era it’s apathy , the Allams , a really poor wage city and rugby tradition . The sports ‘ fans ‘ in this city watch one club or the other due to traditions, family experience etc and the influence and interests of those around them . the solution is to have continuously successful club , the clubs you have quoted the Geordies apart have had 50-60 years of that . In the first twos case each is twice Hulls size , and the catchment for the Geordies and the Mackems is nearly 1.5 million!
Come back with a solution or reason instead of picking others up on their opinion
My answer was tongue in cheek based on the state of those towns and isolation like Hull of Norwich
Maybe there just aren’t enough footie fans in this city .

Not true. The primary reason was that they saw a business opportunity that they thought they could make hay from.

I don't think for one minute that they 'forgot'. They simply don't care. Arrogance, stupidity, 'nobody tells me ...'.

50 hours to season kick off and needed signings, and integration of those signings, hasn't happened. As said right at the start, the owners once again, unnecessarily, making McCann have to fight with one hand tied behind his back. Blinded by the attraction of 'free' money, not even understanding, or particularly caring, about the implications. The task was already challenging enough, moving up a division with a shoe-string budget (no problem with cutting cloth accordingly). At best McCann will be playing catch up with pre-season now effectively over.

 

That’s the kicker at the end of the day. If someone loaned you interest-free money but told you exactly what you could and couldn’t spend money on until you paid it back, most of us would want to pay it back as soon as possible. The fact the club didn’t understand the terms of the embargo when accepting the loan/grant from the EFL suggests Ehab didn’t think twice about it. His eyes probably lit up at the sound of it.

It’s quite frankly embarrassing and pathetic that we were lined up to sign a highly-rated youngster from Man City but that’s been put on the back burner because we couldn’t loan out one of our own in time. Not even the other clubs under embargo operate as clumsily as this.
