2-0 to us I'm erring on side of caution and not attending this one. Pre match boozers will be packed I reckon (and Im not prepared to go without a drink). Not sure what queues will be like getting into crowd and there's no way Im getting there an hour earlier. Concourses will be pretty packed and covid has not gone away. I'll see what 'feedback. is like following matchday experience this Saturday and will review on match by match basis. Its Mrs health Im more concerned about than my own. If I lived by myself I would have gone HTL
Can't wait for the football to start finally as will take some of the attention away from transfers. A win would be great. I'm teetering between confidence and dread. I reckon that's nerves. The fact its Wigan up first, and the players they have signed from us giving it an extra edge, has made those pre-first-match nerves even greater than normal.
Will post this in here as it's more than just about the season card, it covers the matchday arrangements.....
Stomach already doing flips!! Normally the same day as the game but it’s been most of this week. So looking forward to getting back
Fantastic to be seeing RTB’s always superb thread again - I think for us it’s really become part of our match build up and experience! Cheers RTB
I agree but to do this you need two quick reliable centre backs, as per Sanderson and O/9, Flanners is not one imo, and playing Younger and Doyle seems to be an anathema to LJ even in pre-season, something I find odd considering the alternatives deplete our strength in midfield, LJ leaves me wondering at times, only sustained results will justify his faith/obstinacy imo.
Excellent post as always @RTB ! I’m much like the rest of you, I’ve been impressed with pre-season but our obvious gaps in the team have me conflicted. I’m just excited to go back with my Dad and see some football in a stadium again. We have new seats too, so intrigued about my view.
Praying that LJ goes with youth and doesn’t start the donkeys in the side, AOB, Flanagan, Burge etc. Could kill any enthusiasm imo, so it’s important he gets it right.
I don't think Wigan will finish top 6. People are getting carried away because they've signed lots of players and spent lots of money, they're forgetting that the majority of what they've brought in is utter garbage. I reckon they'll be a few goals in this game. 3-2 win for the lads.
On the other side of it, they were one of the better sides at the back end of last season and have won all their pre season games. Very nervous about this one.
They have new players now so that point you're trying to make doesn't really work. You take notice of friendly results?
