I was worried by the more physical side as per west brom , but looking at today we should be fine. I thought smallwood would struggle but he smashed it and our performance was built on his back. Can't wait while tuesday
Is Smallwood the new Ashbee? He was never going to be good enough for League 1, the championship, and the Premier league.
I expect it'll be a different side Tuesday though, for me I could do without it, rather concentrate on the league.
Suspect Samaritans in Preston will be over worked and just calls from me, all the best until we rock up at the KCOM until then enjoy https://www.not606.com/threads/preston-north-end-v-hull-city-deepdale-7-8-21.394544/ Match blog
here's the thing - why would anyone vote against their team, either for a bet or just for fun at the start of a brand new season - even if you play against a top side, you can accept that it's going to be a hard game, maybe better players but you always have to believe that you have a chance, can win, even will win - that's what supporting a team is all about - the only time I suggest it is fair to predict a loss is when your side is on a long losing streak like the last time we were in the championship when it was fair enough to predict a loss because you could tell from the attitude of the players that they thought they would lose as well - so, early days, fantastic start and next time vote wisely - vote Hull City
Thanks for the advice but I will continue to vote as I want. It's not about wanting City to win. It's the complete opposite. Whenever I put them down for a win they lose so I always put it down as a defeat nowadays to try to influence the opposite result. Mad really. Anyway, voting for a defeat is not voting against City. It's an opinion. It would be pointless having a vote if we all went for a City win every week.
I always vote for City to lose. It doesn't mean I want them to lose. Worked well last year. Worked well today. Hope this helps.
i've looked through soccerbase and found this: that's our best away start to a season. we've started with the odd 3-0 away now and then. the onlyother time we scored 4 away on opening day plymouth put 6 past us. 1930s. we've started four times with 4-1 wins at home. darlington early in the peter taylor era, when, if i recall, four different debutants scored (including a fullback from spurs - alton thelwell (?) who had dire luck with injuries and due to that didn't get much pitch time for us); burnley early 1980s when i think steve massey scored twice on debut and rarely bothered thereafter; blackpool just before the first war; and barnsley in our first ever league match.

Would have been very happy with a point but to get three then what a brilliant start, so important has a promoted side to carry it on with that Winning feeling. Momentum and great team spirit goes a long way. Well done to all the lads and those who where there today supporting. UTT
Shall we go **** ehab off? It's early days, preston could have just had a **** pre season. Let's wait til December before getting excited aye!
soccerbase? yeah, it's basic. they could improve it in so many ways, but it's not had any worthwhile enhancements since the current owners bought it from its designer/author.
