Also, last season if 2-1 up we would have played so deep and slow, we would be under severe pressure. I would never say I wouldn’t be nervous, cos anything can happen but I didn’t feel threatened at all late in the game.
I think Burge is decent at this level but seems to suffer with nerves. I'm sure he'll improve after a couple more games he'll definitely gain more confidence when the defence gets sorted. Can't fault him for the goal. Could do with a bit competition for his place mind.
I love these and this was a particularly good one. Actually laughed out loud at ‘next home game 21st which is a good thing as we all getting pinged by the NHS app for being at this one’ Loch Ness Drogba needs to be a thing.
I didn’t know whether he would be bullied but I think he reads the game well enough to get by,his distribution was outstanding but it’s a big leap in level Couple of seasons at Sunderland will make him come on enormously
He already looks like our best defender - I'm sure he'll make a few mistakes along the way but so far so good. He certainly does not look out of place in this League and is just SO confident on the ball and off it.
We had Sanderson last season from Wolves and he was superb, this kid looks way better even this early. His composure and reading of the game is crazy good, and to see a 17 year old directing the back line is mind blowing. He is going to be an outstanding CB.
It’s an unusual placement for City,we don’t send too many to English clubs so I presume Sunderland will play out from the back rather than lump it forward as it wouldn’t make sense otherwise All of our age groups from the little ones up to the first team all play the same way, same 4-3-3 system so it’s more of a seamless way to get them ready for each move up
I only picked that up from the after show highlights video when Danny Collins mentioned it. Wyke didn't even jump to challenge him. Makes it all the better.
Thats certainly how we’ve been doing it ore season and to this point. I think where we are good for clubs like City is the benefit of the facilities and of course getting used to playing in front of big crowds. Certainly will help him physically playing at this level as well. Can see massive benefits to the lad.
