Wolverhampton 1.00 Hooflepuff 3 time CD winner who returns to Wolverhampton on a good mark. Up in trip and a visor replacing blinkers could unlock some improvement today. Shrewed yard often does well in these kind of races at Wolverhampton. Will be interesting to see if there is market support for Hooflepuff.
Interesting race at Gowran Park where the 7F 2YO maiden sees Sen Ding brings the best form after an initial 6th to Beauty Inspire was followed by a 3rd to John The Baptist, where he was only a neck in arrears of the winner. Dermot Weld's Golden Beach was third on his only start but was given quite a thumping behind Buckaroo, who just got the better of it as the first two pulled well clear. I think he needs to have improved markedly in a hurry to win this one. The interesting ones for me are Tranquil Lady and Trevaunance. Tranquil Lady is trained by Joseph O'Brien and is a daughter of Australia. She cost £160,000 and is a half sister to State Of Rest, who won the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby for the stable. Entered up in the Fillies Mile in October, you would assume they think something of her. Trevaunance is in the hands of Jessica Harrington and she is by Muhaararr out of Liber Nauticus, who was fancied for the Oaks on her third srart but didn;t seem to stay in what turned out to be her final race. This filly is entered in the Debutante, Moyglare and Rockfel, so one can only assume she is regarded to a fair degree. Sen Ding is 5/2 Fav and I think that's a shade short out of box 16. Tranquil Lady is 6/1 in a place but also has a high draw in 14, she may also be better over further. Golden Beach looks very short to me at 3/1 and I would have him a fair bit bigger than that based on his margin of defeat last time. I went with Trevaunance at 5/1. Drawn in stall 5, I think she might be more forward than Joseph's Australia filly and her entries in good 7F races suggest she may be more at home over today's trip. Both Harrington and O'Brien have second entries but they look second string on entries, jockeys and in the market. 6.05 Gowran Park Trevaunance 5/1
16:00 Beverley - Ugo Gregory (Normally I pass over horses that only have had a short break from LTO, in this case only 5-days. However, don't think the Tim Easterby yard would run him if he had not recovered from his recent exertions, always found them to be pretty straight shooters. Selection has the form to run well in this event. Stable jockey David Allan on board. 5/1 freely-available at time of writing.)
Little singles and a treble in the first 3 at Yarmouth. 1.00 Trouser The Cash 1.30 Altaif 2.05 Queenie Newall Good luck with yours all
A 25/1 newcomer from the Michael Stoute stable that does you in as well. Unlucky. 100/1 and 20/1 newcomers won the two year old races at Salisbury so punters there will have been stunned. I reckon that the second of those, Ribhi, is worth keeping an eye on. The time was 1.3 seconds faster than the first division and I reckon the Tregoning colt has run close to 90 there based on the runner-up. The son of Dark Angel looked to have enough to do with a couple of furlongs to go but he really quickened up claiming the leaders easily and was flying away from them in the end. You would think there will be more to come upped to 7F and visually that was as good as anything I have seen in the 2YO division this season. He looks classy to me. https://www.racingtv.com/videos/wat...byerley-stud-british-ebf-novice-stakes-4-d-ii
Another huge priced 2YO as Rerouting wins the 6.05 Gowran at 33/1. Trevaunance ran well enough on debut but wasn't quickly enough away to get a position from her favourable looking draw. She had to settle for a place in behind runners and then, as they hit the 3F mark she needed to be bustled up to try to close. It took her too long to find her find and the leaders were away but she started to stay on strongly in the closing stages and came through to finish best of the lot, coming past runners and gaining ground on the 1-2-3 late. I thought Trevaunance was the one to take from this race but she will need to come on a ton to keep any of her fancy group entries. There looked little to get excited about otherwise in the race. It was a tight finish and the initially weak Golden Beach, who hit 10/1 before coming back to 4/1 was not far away in 5th after being thumped by Buckaroo last time. I reckon Trevaunance will win races and probably before too long but she wasn't quite ready tonight. Promising.
