The first team picks itself, looks quite a difficult team to score against. Hoping DJ or Albie can create something for Stockley to knock in, maybe sneak a 1-0. I hope Barker is on the bench this time.
I wouldn't mind going but my Saturdays are always busy on the family front. On home match-days, attending the game at the Valley is fitted in as part of my Saturday schedule. But I can hardly ever get to away matches...
I'm not expecting to be doing aways this season apart from Gillingham. Even then I'll probably find it hard to get tickets depending on what the priorities are for eligibility.
As we quite rightly ignored the Wimbledon game, in the same way that the club regularly seem to spurn any sort of cup tie, we seem to have got out of the match thread habit. So despite te fact I'm on the other side of the planet, I'll put this up so we can look forward to this afternoon's match. Oxford necver seems like muc of a appy hunting ground for us - in our blazing run in to the play off final under Bowyer, this was a loss which kept the doubters doubting. I'm not sure if Carlie Kirk will be in any position to play today as he can't have had more than a minimal contact with the squad, so we will probably o into tis one wit the same team we used to get a 0-0 with the Massive. However, we spent money this week, so hopefully all the fans who were condemning TS as being potless should be happier that we are building a squad. I always want to see us win but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world. Prediction 1-1
Bugger - didn't see this thread. Lardi, can you mesh it with my one, or just erase the one I just started?
Need a win to lay down a marker defeat and the negative nancies will flood social media and revel in it
We need goals and can’t rely on Chuks anymore, I’m hoping Stockley can start getting some with his feet as well as his nut
A win would be great, a draw acceptable and a loss not the end of the world. It's a very long season and our squad is still a work in progress. We don't need to be in the top two in August. Just in May.
Same team as last week. Bench is awful. Too soon for James T apparently. I'd take a draw right now. Charlton: MacGillivray; Matthews, Inniss, Famewo, Gunter; Clare, Dobson, Morgan; Jaiyesimi, Stockley (c), Washington Subs: Harness, Elerewe, Pearce, Roddy, Watson, Clayden, Davison
Haha maybe but I just feel there are at least 6 teams that are better than us at the moment and don't see us getting top 6 as a result
Well, that was disappointing. Wasn't there so I don't know the nature of our defeat. Somebody will enlighten us in due course I hope.
As expected really. Our current squad is nowhere near good enough to gain promotion, it's probably a mid-table team at best. It all just depends on who else we sign or loan over the next few weeks, but in my opinion we need 3 or 4 quality signings just to get us to the level of last years squad. 5 or 6 quality signings might get us promoted, but can anyone really see that happening ?
