I’m sure they mentioned on the commentary before the game that the last two times we won both opening games we went up. Hopefully a good omen :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think they are trying to manage his game time to nurse him through the tendonitis that he is suffering with. He's having to play with injections at the moment.

Thought we Battled well, could have put it to bed early if we'd taken our chances in the first half. Though Gooch was bullied out of his normal game and was a little miffed some decisions went against him (think thats why he wanted to take the Penalty). Burge pulled off some good saves but will be slated for his throw out. We are looking stronger with the high press but it is energy draining to maintain but All in all job done but I wish we wouldnt give so much space on the side lines to opposition wingers we play very narrow at the back. 3 Played = 3 Won...Keep it up Lads

Need a new keeper mind, it's gonna be very tight at the top end of the season between a few teams and a decent keeper could make all the difference if it comes down to a few points wether we go up or not

    Ross Stewart: 2 in 2
    Charlie Wyke: 0 in 2... <whistle>

Stewart also managed to get us 2 pens so far too. Not sure Wyke would have been in them positions to achieve that either.

Was Mcgeady subbed before the pen? And that is why Gooch took it ( and missed!)

Burge is a hard one to call. Like it or not at this level he is a decent keeper (I know people very vocally disagree). He’s prone to making mistakes but made a couple of tremendous saves towards the end. Also the fact he was the keeper of the season last year shows what the goalkeeper standard is in League One.

To get a quality keeper in league one it would have to be a loan from a league above.

LJ says Onien being sick meant Cirkin started. He wanted to give him a bit more time to settle in but needs must. He is only 75% up to speed but was outstanding

If asked if i think Burge is a great keeper, the answer is, no he is not.
However bearing in mind the absolute plonkers we have had lately, I doubt we will find much better in L1

That pen miss won me £42 !. 2-1 is the score this season i will have another bet at Burton 1-2 might put a tenner on this time, if we win 25 matches 2-1 this season i don't care. A great win that like Port vale we just need to keep hold of the ball more and waste time, but exellent start to the season. Need another striker, midfielder and goal keeper though

Hes not a bad keeper at all when it comes to actually saving the ball. Its his daft mistakes that let him down
