Don't know - a lot less than Saturday. Their capacity is less than 7000. Away fans visiting the Pirelli Stadium are predominantly located in the East Terrace, with a typical allocation of around 1,400, with an additional 400 seats made available to visiting supporters in the Main Stand.
I believe O/9 is fit to return, reallly good news if that's the case he is starting to look the part in mid-field imo.
Great thread RTB as usual, excellent work. Love another win for the Lads, we need to top this league and stay there. A clean sheet would be nice also so I'm going for 2 nowt. Ha'Way the Lads.
Tough game, I fully expect Burton to be very high in the league this season under Hasslebank. Difficult to predict a score at this early stage of the season I'll go for a draw though.
I'm going for a Sunderland win and think it'll be more comfortable than Saturday. Burton won on Saturday but their victory was no more impressive than ours and they were at home. They won with a penalty and Ipswich missed one. They only had two shots on target, all game, 35 % possession and three corners. That's a great win but not a great performance ... ... it may have been successful, on this occasion, but they won't win too many playing like that imo. Their stats, in their 1-0 win at Shrewsbury, were quite similar. 2-0 to Sunderland, Haway the Lads!!!
Feeling a draw tonight. Think itl be a tough game and think Burton will do well this year. Manager has been impressive since coming in.
Team selection going to be interesting tonight.I don't think they'll risk Evans this early in the season,so holding midfield could be O9 if he's recovered, which I'm not sure about. Also think Pritchard may start and maybe Alves too, with Broadhead on the bench. Goochy needs an improvement mind.
If Onien and Evans dont make it i think Doyle could make a pretty decent midfielder with his ability on the ball and the way he can spray it about the pitch. I reckon he'd make a pretty decent deep lying playmaker this season if need be in the same type of mould as Carrick.
Personally if Onien and Evans are out i think Winchester will move back into midfield and we'll revert to a back 3 or 4 with Alves, Doyle and Flannagan with Gooch and Cirkin as wingbacks or a back 4 with Alves in at right back and Winchester in midfield to replace Evans
I'm staying positive. Burton will most likely be thereabouts so i think it's a good thing to get them away early in the campaign
LJ says it's going to be direct from Burton and we need to win the first and second balls. 3 at the back I think.
Just had a couple of posts from a mate in Derby....These are from a Burton Famzine.. I seriously do not know any Sunderland fan who thinks we "Shouldn't be playing the like of Burton" or that we have a sense of "Entitlement".... Yes we were a Premier League team and have fallen badly, but we are where we are, and who we play now goes with the territory ....Not sure about these people's mindset when they post crap like this. "The one game (or 2) that I always want to win more than others. For the fact they look down their nose at us and genuinely think they should not be playing us. Hope we win this. Flying back from greece at 4pm so time to make it assuming no delays" I did enjoy watching that! I almost felt sorry for them, then I snapped out of it. The sense of entitlement is half the reason they are in league one in the first place. The team are rubbish, but wow, look at the stadium ! As if it’s the be all and end all." "
